These are different brands of disc golf discs. In disc golf, the brand is not necessarily the manufacturer as many manufactures produce discs for multiple brands.
The Stag is an overstable fairway driver in the Westside line. This disc is an excellent choice for throwing controlled fairway drives for both backhand and forehand shots. The Stag may not be the fastest disc (speed 8) out there, but it does have a very comfortable, moderate rim of 1.9cm. This disc is available in Tournament and VIP plastics.
This overstable mid-range is a touch faster than its ever popular counterpart the Roc. Unlike it’s predecessor, the Roc 3 will only be available in Innova’s Champion plastic. The Champions mix allows for better grip and shine, making it easier to spot in foliage.
This new Roc 3 appears to be able to handle anything, from controlled approaches to range drives. Its extremely versatile and performs well in windy conditions.
The Zombee is a new fairway driver that was introduced by Discraft for the 2012 Ace Race. This is a tall, straight shooter with predictable end flight fade. This disc is like a cross between the mid-range Buzzz and the Stalker driver. Discraft has given this disc a 1.0 in the stability department.
The Zombee is available in Z plastic in weights from 170-175g.
The Tern is a understable high speed driver in Innovas line of discs. Being understable, this is a disc that provides max distance for intermediate players as well as a good level of comfort. While the Tern comes equipped with a wide rim it isn’t decked out to its max width unlike the Dominator, Vulcan, or Katana. The Innova Tern was approved by the PDGA on December 3, 2012.
Innova states that the flight rating of this disc in Star and Champion plastic slightly differ. The flight rating for Champion Plastic is 12/6/-2/2. The Champion plastic is super clear and looks sharp.
The MVP is a straight flying disc which tends to be slightly overstable. Depending on the amount of snap when thrown, the Volt can have a decent fade at the end of its flight. The GYRO Technology in this disc makes it the goto for long, tight fairway shots. The disc is also designed to sit down where it lands, which remedies the unpredictability which typically happens after a disc has landed. This disc is a great addition to any disc golfers bag and is excellent for beginner and intermediate players.
The Vibram Lace was the first distance driver released by Vibram, and is one of the fastest, straightest flying high speed drivers that was on the market. According to information from inBounds Disc Golf, this disc is supposedly, the farthest flying disc on the market.
Because of its fairly neutral flight path combined with excellent glide, this is a perfect distance driver for straight fairway drives or powering up for a long anhyzer drive. The smooth, moderate dome and semi-wide wing make it comfortable in your hand. If you like the Saber but want a disc you really wing out there, then this is definitely the disc you want. You will find this to be a surprisingly stable disc even in its lighter weights.
The Lucky 13 is arguably one of the most understable drivers on the market. Upon release the disc sharply turns into an anhyzer angle, it then sails far with that flight angle, and gradually fades back to the ground shortly thereafter. After a bit of fine tuning in your throw, this is a great proves to be a great choice for practiced disc golfers who want some easy distance. For players with a strong snap, this disc will just be too understable.
The Medusa by Skyquest is a long distance disc with a perfect mix of speed, glide, turn and fade. This disc is fast! It maintains its speed courtesy thanks to it’s thin and thick rim The flight rating for the Medusa is 11/5/-2/2. Unlike the L13, which shows its understability from launch, the Medusa gently turns, maintains a straight flight line, and then gently fades into it’s landing destination.
The Stingray by Innova is a dependable mid-range disc. With low speed and an understable nature this is a disc that is suitable for all conditions and it flies with a grace like a Stingray. The flight rating of 4/5/-3/1.
