Salient Discs is a disc golf manufacturer out of South Carolina that had a reputation for poor customer service. They started the American Disc Golf Tour but went out of business around 2015.
The Touch is Salients only thin-rimmed, tall putter.
Salient says: “Touch is our first big bead putter and features a comfortable in hand feel with easy release. Touch features a neutral flight path at high speeds with a lower fade than other beaded putters on the market, thus making this disc great for both putting and drives off the tee.”
The Antidote is Salient’s answer to inconsistent mid-range shots. This mid was developed to have the optimal glide and fade for those controlled approach shots. Salient gives the Antidote flight ratings of 5/6/-.5/.5 meaning that this disc should glide very well and have minimal turn or fade.
The Vein is a fairway driver by Salient Discs. According to Salient, this stable driver will fly straight and won’t turn over. This is proves to be the perfect go to driver for Salient fans. The Vein is available in three different plastic blends. Liquid, the original plastic that was used in the creation of it’s brother the Prometheus, the Cryo plastic, and a new stiff version of the Cryo blend.
The Salient Suture is an understable driver great for hyzer flips. This is a moderate speed driver that performs well for the new comers to disc golf. The Suture utilizes the same mold as the Yikun Hu.
The Salient Reign is a fast, thick rimmed overstable distance driver. This is the John E. McCray signature disc that is in the Salient line, and utilizes the same mold as the Yikun DA’E.
The Prometheus is a unique new driver released by up and coming Salient Discs. This is an extra wide diameter, straight flying distance driver. The intention with the Prometheus is to provide a disc possesses a similar flight path to that of a mid-range, but the distance of a driver. At 22.6cm, the diameter of this driver is wider than anything else the PDGA has approved in years. This disc is almost a centimeter wider than the Discraft Buzzz. The rim of the Prometheus also pushes the limits on width. The only PDGA approved disc with a wider wing, than the 2.6cm Prometheus, is the Aerobie Epic. The only disc that can rival the Prometheus in dimensions is the non-PDGA-approved Gateway Ninja. Salient describes the Prometheus as a distance driver that acts like a fairway driver, with the fade of a mid-range, and is said to be friendly to all golfers no matter the skill level.
The Salient Napalm is an un understable Distance driver that likes to go far. This is a solid distance driver for both new and intermediate disc golfers that are on the hunt for some explosive distance. The Napalm uses the same mold as the Yikun Jun.
The Salient Backdraft is a new wide rimmed stable distance driver. Unlike the Prometheus, the Backdraft has a smaller diameter that tends to be more common in traditional distance drivers. For experienced disc golfers, this disc will go the distance. This is a very domey driver that gives enough glide it can glide for days. The Backdraft is available in Liquid, Cryo, and Stiff Cryo plastic blends.
