It would be an understatement to say that the Mako3 is perfect for all skill levels.

Faster than its ancestor, the Mako3 is the perfect disc for anyone wanting a straight flyer with a minimum amount of fade.

Its easy-to-grip and easy-to-throw rim gives you a lot of clean and consistent releases to the point that you will never want to take it out of your bag.

The Mako3 by Innova boasts a really straight flight that, in fact, we recommend it for tricky tunnel shots. When you throw it at a certain angle, you will most likely see it zoom its way towards its destination. You can also easily control where it would fade with a little hyzer or anhyzer.

Given how stable it is, reaching a distance of 300 feet is an easy feat.

One important thing to note, though, is that the Innova Mako3 might still be less stable than some players would prefer in the face of strong headwinds.

In addition to that, you have to be careful when it comes to the amount of strength you will use in throwing this disc. It literally follows a straight path that makes it capable of cruising through the air for a good while.

Pros

  • Has an incredible glide that is sure to get you astonishing distances
  • Is a good midrange disc for beginners who want to refine their forms
  • Flies dead straight and flies true where you want it to

Cons

  • Is not stable enough to take on strong headwinds
  • Can stay in the air for a good while

As a remarkably popular midrange, the Roc is undeniably one of the best Innova midrange discs there is.

Its versatility makes it one of the main reasons why it receives much adoration from disc golfers. It starts out with an overstable flight, seasons into a very straight flyer, and ends with a soft, reliable turnover. Its flight is incredibly predictable across all variations of plastic that a lot of professionals even use this disc.

For beginners, the Innova Roc is also an ideal option if you want to enhance your accuracy as well as consistency.

Take note, however, that using this disc is no stroll in the park. Although it’s not particularly hard, you need some time to get used to this mold.

Many new disc golfers complain about the fact that the Roc by Innova seems to be more overstable than they preferred at first. However, many players purchase the Roc not for what it is when it’s still brand-new, but for what it becomes once beaten in.

Pros

  • Holds its angle upon release even into a headwind
  • Has a very predictable flight
  • Is a reliable form of practice disc across all plastic varieties

Cons

  • Requires some getting used to to properly control

A reliable companion for your tunnel shot needs, the Foxbat midrange disc from Innova conveniently glides straight to the target. It also navigates magnificently on tightly wooded courses.

When the Foxbat is released at moderate power, you will find yourself a straight flyer that could easily reach 300 feet. Increasing your release power will also give you a drifter that goes faintly to the right.

Many users vouch for the Innova Foxbat when it comes to how fun it feels when used for throwing hyzer flips and forehands.

In spite of that, you will find the midrange disc quite the unforgiving teammate during windy conditions.

Throw it too high, and chances are high that it will only fly off course. Throw it too softly, on the other hand, and it will mostly faceplant straight to the ground and in no time at all.

Pros

  • Is quite the straight flyer
  • Is a finesse flyer for tight-kit situations

Cons

  • Requires some getting used to for newbie disc golfers
  • Can be a terrible driver during windy conditions

The Innova Panther disc golf disc is your perfect teacher if you want to learn how to properly throw turnover and straight midrange shots. It allows you to have that sweet distance while teaching you about the release angles at the same time.

Throw it in an anny, and the Panther remains at that angle for as long as it has the speed. Release it straight, however, and you have a very straight flyer.

The Panther from Innova is also terrific for doing hyzer flips and turnovers in the woods. However, while you can absolutely rely on its predictability, you need to take into account that it flips when you use too much power to throw it.

Pros

  • Is ideal for learning turnover and straight midrange throws
  • Has a very predictable flight
  • Could reach 400 feet

Cons

  • Easily flips when thrown with too much power

If you are searching for a new midrange disc that performs on par with those that have already been beaten in, then the Innova Manta is what you need in your bag.

It turns gently with powered releases and glides straight in moderate, flat throws. Even with powered-down releases, you can expect the Manta midrange disc from Innova to fly in a true line. You can also easily control your midrange and approach shots with its distinctly narrow rim depth.

One of the things we aren’t so fond about it, however, is that it can be rather strange to the touch at first due to its rather domey feature. It is also thin near the edges, which can pose a challenge for some players.

Pros

  • Performs on par with broken in discs
  • Offers you a way to easily control shots

Cons

  • Has a unique feel to the touch that may take some players some time to get familiar with

The Wombat3 midrange disc from Innova has a beginner-friendly nature that tends to cover up for your unintended slip ups while still achieving a truly straight flight.

For beginners, the Innova Wombat3 is a reliable and constructive learning partner for putters to drivers. For the more seasoned players, this midrange disc is an exemplary choice for turnovers, hyzer flips-to-turns, and low-ceiling approach shots.

Throw it towards high elevations, and you will see it go without throwing nose up, even if accidental.

Just a heads up, though, that the disc has a particularly sharp edge, which may take some players some time to get used to. Also, when you throw it at full power, you will most likely see a turning, burning midrange disc that may be beyond your control.

Pros

  • Is a straight flyer
  • Is a constructive teacher for beginners learning the proper forms
  • Is perfect for narrow and tricky shots

Cons

  • Is not suited for full power releases
  • May take some getting used to for some players

Review

The Cobra midrange disc from Innova is one of your trusty companions if you are bent on making those difficult lines without taking too much force. It’s remarkable for its ability to maneuver your way around obstacles in a given course.

What is commendable about the Innova Cobra is that it flies incredibly straight and far for new players. For seasoned players, it is also an astonishing disc, thanks to its ability to glide way farther it normally can with a hyzer.

Despite that, the Cobra still has a few imperfections. One is that it is a glidey midrange that turns rather easily and quickly, although it does come back as it slows down at the end of its flight.

Pros

  • Has a narrow rim that provides better control for your shots
  • Has a lot of glide
  • Has a curvy flight that is useful for going around obstacles

Cons

  • Can become harder to control when exerted with more power

Plastic grade(s) Double Mold

Review

A surprisingly fast midrange disc, the Atlas midrange disc from Innova is a disc golf disc you can easily control, as it holds the line you put it on.

It has a decent enough glide that you do not need to worry about it getting out of control. You would be amazed at how stable it is even at really high speeds and how it is capable of maintaining its dead-straight flight.

Not only that, but the Atlas is a very versatile disc. Try letting it fly on a sweeping hyzer or hold a big anhyzer line, and it will surely not disappoint you.

Pay specific mind to the double mold, though, since it takes a while to get accustomed to.

Pros

  • Is very stable even on high winds
  • Maintains a straight flight from start to finish
  • Holds the line depending on throw

Cons

  • The feel of the disc feels weird and may require some getting used to

The Coyote disc from Innova can be your go-to midrange disc for windy shots that take place in less than 100 feet.

It flies straight and holds the line you put it into. Aside from that, it is perfect for last-shot hyzers and short rollers thrown in the sidearm way.

Another thing we loved about this midrange disc is that the Coyote is dependable and predictable once you learn its flight patterns. Furthermore, it has an awesome glide and forward fade that makes it a great disc all in all.

Despite the standard size of its small rim, however, it goes rather deeply to the flight plate of the Coyote. This may feel uniquely different and may take a while to grow accustomed to.

Pros

  • Holds the line you put it into
  • Could push through small obstacles
  • Also great for approach shots

Cons

  • Has a smaller distance range than most discs
  • Its behaviour may take some time to be familiar with

The King Cobra in Champion plastic is one of the best Innova midrange discs that you can definitely rely on during pinched situations.

Designed to fly straight for power players, the disc golf disc allows for easy releases and ultra-smooth-sailing flights. It also supports backhand drivers from 250 feet (at maximum power for advanced players), as well as forehand drives at 200 feet.

Although it is rather domey, the shape still retains its comfortable feel when used. It flies straight and far with less fade, although it takes a bit of time to break in, as with all discs in the Champion plastic.

Pros

  • Flies like a seasoned midrange disc
  • Has a very decent glide
  • Good for tight situations
  • Glides straight and smooth with less fade

Cons

  • Is a tweener for a number of well-known discs
  • Can take a little time to be beaten in

If you’re new to the sport of disc golf and still have to take a few adventures with the various disc golf discs in the market, the Roc3 from Innova would definitely be in your bag as soon as you get accustomed to it.

When thrown hard, the Roc3 bolts through with a slight fade. Try throwing it firmly but fluidly, and you’ll be amazed at how you can get a consistently moderate fade throughout its flight. When you throw it flat, it will also slowly float to the right then fall forward with no fade at all.

Another thing we liked about the Innova Roc3 is that it will never burn over a turnover line. It is also perfect for holding hyzers; in fact, you could even get to 300 feet without trying too hard with this midrange disc.

Be cautious, however. When using it for approach shots, the Roc3 becomes too unpredictable with all its fades. This happens all the more if you’re doing forehand throws with this disc. Aside from that, the beads on the disc may feel awkward when released.

Pros

  • Is perfect for holding hyzers
  • Has a predictable flight, depending on the throw
  • Has a rather high distance range

Cons

  • May take some time to get used to
  • Is awkward when thrown using forehand
  • Is not compatible with approach shots

You can greatly benefit from the smooth rim and super consistent release that the Innova Shark provides its users.

The Shark is your disc if you’re looking for a disc golf to use for predictable straights, hyzer or anhyzer drives, and long approach shots. You can use it for putting, too, even while it improves the smoothness of your form and throws.

While the Shark midrange disc from Innova is not a flat-topped disc, it would still feel perfect in your hands. In fact, we found that it was perfect enough to smoothly throw some shots to get around the woods.

Just be careful when it comes to hitting some obstacles since the Shark does not take that kind of beating well.

Another gripe we have is that its flight ratings can be less reliable once you have a solid form and faster arm speed. Furthermore, while it can turn over a bit, its glide isn’t far enough to be advantageous.

Pros

  • Has predictable flight patterns
  • Has a smooth rim and consistent release
  • Is a good disc if you want to smoothen your form and throws

Cons

  • Breaks rather easily in base plastic in cold weather after hitting some obstacles
  • Does not have sufficient glide

How To Find The Best Midrange Disc For You

A good midrange disc should let you do a wide variety of accurate shots. It should be pretty versatile, effective, and bridge the gap between a driver and a putter.

For a good reference on what midrange disc are perfect for your needs, here is a list of preliminary questions you should consider before deciding:

  • What are the specs you want in a midrange disc?
  • How versatile do you want the midrange disc to be?
  • What would likely happen if you do a run around the course?
  • How rare is the specific midrange disc you have in mind?
  • Does it fall within your specific budget?
  • Do you have the skills necessary to use it?

Conclusion

There are more preliminary questions you have to answer before deciding to buy a midrange disc made by Innova.

The ones we raised above are just some of the best that they have to offer. The company still has a lot more discs to offer that are worth looking into aside from midrange discs.

We do hope, though, that this guide has helped you when it comes to selecting the best Innova midrange disc that suits your taste.

As an extremely overstable midrange disc, Gateway’s Demon has a good grip and is very comfortable in the hands that it rarely makes you do an unclean release.

It also has a considerably high speed and will hold its line no matter how strong the wind is. It literally makes a hissing sound as it approaches its target, especially when thrown at headwinds.

You can easily predict its path since it zooms dead-straight and then finishes real hard to the left. You can easily use this disc to dive-bomb into baskets or for any utility shots that need strong fades.

As for the shots you can throw it with, the Demon can basically do everything. From hyzer bombs and anhyzer shots to sick skip shots and flat lasers, it quickly slices through the air and is pretty reliable.

Mind the weather, though, when you use this disc. It has an excellent grip on hot forecasts but is terribly skippy during cold ones. Furthermore, it doesn’t have the greatest glide, which may be a deal-breaker for some players.

Pros

  • Is very comfortable in the hands
  • Has a predictable flight path
  • Performs well even on headwinds

Cons

  • Its performance may depend on the weather
  • Is a terrible match for beginners

It is not an understatement to call the Wizard a long-gliding putter since you can use it when you’re struggling with hitting those longer putts.

This shockingly comfortable, beaded mold flies in a dependable and consistent direction—real straight with a gentle fade at the end.

While long anhyzers are its strength, you can also always rely on the Wizard to handle hyzers very well regardless of how far you throw it.

It has a whopping 5,000 different plastic variants to choose from, and depending on its plastic variant, it may slide or bounce before settling its landing. Aside from that, it has a grippy feel that makes it stable enough to hold up even in strong winds.

Its ability to hold power well also makes it ideal for throwing off the tree or for upshots around 250.

However, it is still a slow putter, so using a stronger flick might result in an unclean release. This might result in your Wizard disc golf disc going way off course.

In addition, some users may consider it too soft for approach shots. It also has a noticeably deeper feel and less glide than one might prefer.

Pros

  • Has a high glide rate for a putter
  • Has over 5,000 plastic variants to choose from
  • Has a consistent flight

Cons

  • How it lands may depend on the type of plastic you buy it in
  • May require stronger flicks to release it quite cleanly

Quite grippy and firm, the Gateway Journey is a super fast distance driver that could even get you to more than 400 feet.

It is not a particularly straight flyer, but you can easily control its flight depending on your needs.

When you throw it normally, you can observe that it flies straight for about 50% of its flight before turning ever so slowly. Upon nearing the end of its flight (about 95% of the journey), you can see it fade back.

With a very grippy, comfortable, and durable plastic, the Journey disc golf disc from Gateway knows how to bomb and handle time torques. Its glide will also keep it aloft when you throw it low, and it flies nicely and lands where you want it to.

More suited for players with strong arms, some users may not find it very beginner-friendly. However, you can certainly use this disc to master how to control the speed and release points of distance drivers.

Another thing to note is that it is a disc you probably cannot depend on in strong winds.

Pros

  • Is very predictable and can cover long distances
  • Is a super controllable disc

Cons

  • Is not a great match for beginner players
  • Is not very reliable in the face of strong winds

The Apache disc golf disc manufactured by Gateway works both as a distance driver and as a control driver. As a very domey distance driver, however, the Apache has a fairly deep rim that lets it ride the wind for long periods of time.

Because of its beadless feature, you can use this disc to get a really long, straight shot that you do not want to turn.

Throw this reliable and predictable disc on an anhyzer, and you’d see it hold that angle while gliding for days. Even when you throw it flat, you would still see it fly straight at a quick pace with a slight fade at the end.

It is also easy to control, and once the disc is really broken in, it is an awesome tool for turnovers, hyzer-flips, and rollers.

One thing we disliked about it, though, is that while it flies well in most conditions, the Apache does not fare well in head winds since its super domey feature tends to decrease its speed.

Pros

  • Has a long glide because of its enormous dome
  • Has a predictable flight

Cons

  • Does not perform well on head winds

Not your typical distance driver, the Illusion disc golf disc by Gateway requires you to exert as much arm strength as you can into your throws if you want this disc to really cover some distance.

Its super thin and domey feature makes it so fast that if you do not have the required arm strength, it would simply fade early, which would then be the end of your flight.

This overstable flyer is a good control driver for sharp turns that can get around huge obstacles. You can also use it for spike hyzers, sidearm, or tomahawk throws.

It tends to always do what you expect it to do. Once you get used to it, the Illusion is a fun utility disc that could get you to over 400 feet.

Take note, however, that this is not a disc that we would suggest for beginning disc golfers.

Pros

  • Can cover a really good distance
  • Is really fast
  • Is good for getting around obstacles
  • Is really good for hard whip throws

Cons

  • Does not glide after making a turn
  • Requires a great amount of arm strength to fly as planned
  • Is not compatible for those with weaker arm strengths

This particular Gateway distance driver is a fast and long flyer given its sleek and slightly-domey profile.

Because of how speedy and glidey it is, you can easily reach over 400 feet using the Samurai.

You won’t have a hard time throwing it really hard because the bead on its wings gives you more control on this driver, therefore letting you do more accurate shots depending on your skills.

It may take you some time to adjust to how well it can be used, but you can definitely utilize the significant amount of fades and turns that this disc does.

In fact, it has so much that its flights may seem unpredictable and inconsistent.

Pros

  • Has a high speed
  • Is super glidey that could cover great distances

Cons

  • Seems to have inconsistent and unpredictable flights
  • Takes some time to get use to

A dead-straight flyer with a lot of glide.

You can easily control the Gateway Assassin to the point that you can use it for tight fairways or tricky tunnels.

Not only that, but when you release it on an anny, it will soon hyzer for some good flex shots. Also, if you want those extra distances, the Assassin is perfect for stretching out its flight.

This beginner-friendly fairway driver is so easy to use that anyone could use it for both backhand and forehand throws that would go for at least 200 feet, no sweat.

Take note, though, that even if it’s excellent for control shots, the Assassin will turn and burn when released with too much power.

Pros

  • Can be used by anyone
  • Has a lot of glide
  • Is very controllable especially for tricky shots

Cons

  • Does not handle powered shots well

The Sabre is a highly controllable fairway driver that is perfect for tunnel shots even from afar.

This disc is so glidey and controllable that you can do a 300-feet tunnel shot, or any other tricky shots, with it pretty easily.

Not only that, but it’s also a straight-flying fairway driver that does not require a lot of power to cover a considerable amount of distance down the fairway.

If you’re still a new player to the game, you can use this disc to master your backhand throws and perfect your throwing forms. Take note, though, that the Sabre does not perform as well with much wind present.

Pros

  • Has a lot of glide
  • Is really controllable
  • Does not require too much power for release
  • Is a good disc for mastering throws and forms

Cons

  • Does not fare well with much wind

A very controllable fairway driver that has a grippy and reliably consistent flight pattern; when it will go straight when thrown in a hyzer and straight-to-glidey-anny-fade when thrown flat.

With enough practice, you can use this disc as a backhand roller as well. You can even easily reach a distance of over 350 feet because of how glidey this driver is.

The Gateway Spear may be a bit more stable than the ratings at first, but once beaten in, you will get the understable disc stated in the numbers.

Players with great arm strength might need to power down their releases for straight flights considering how understable it is.

Pros

  • Has quite the glide
  • Is comfortable grippy
  • Has a consistent and reliable flight pattern

Cons

  • Needs to be beaten in a little to match the numbers
  • Does not fare well with powered shots

Review

Arguably a more overstable disc than deemed by the ratings, the Prophecy is a glidey flatop midranger that could reach around 300 feet for you.

This fairly sharp-rimmed driver has a comfortable grip and feel that makes it an easy-to-use midrange driver for any player level. That design might be too aggressive-looking, but it feels non-existent upon touch.

It’s stable and durable enough to fight trees or headwinds head-on.

For about 85% of its flight, the Prophecy is a dead-straight flyer that then fades predictably upon slowing down. This pattern makes it a predictable disc that any player could rely on.

Pros

  • Has a predictable flight pattern
  • Is considerably comfortable to throw
  • Could handle headwinds fare enough
  • Is durable enough to not break upon contact with trees or other hard obstacles

Cons

  • The comfort level if offers may feel different according to preferences

Review

A reliable partner for your utility shot needs, the Mystic by Gateway would fly however you want it depending on how much strength and degree of angle you put into the disc.

If you’re aiming for more turns, release this disc harder proportional to how much you want it to turn.

With its fairly shallow rim, you can flick it and get a super smooth release that would result into a glide.

This midranger glides with an S-like pattern that stops at the exact line it started, making it a very reliable and predictable midrange disc.

Due to its understability, however, it does not get along with windy situations.

Pros

  • Is an excellent utility midranger
  • Has a flight pattern that is fairly controllable and predictable
  • Has a super smooth release on flicks

Cons

  • Does not bode well with windy situations

Review

As a midranger with a predictable flight pattern, the Element feels great on-hand and could go for over 300 feet.

When released on an anhyzer, it goes right and stays right. Release it flat and easy, this disc goes straight all the way. With a hard anhyzer release, it would flatly flip up and glide.

As a utility disc, it is perfect for making shots in wooded courses– it goes wherever you want it to glide quite far without using too much power.

However, due to its understability, you cannot use it well during windy situations no matter how versatile it is.

Pros

  • Is fairly predictable
  • Is quite versatile
  • Is good for tricky shots
  • Goes predictably straight with a bit of fade
  • Is super beginner friendly

Cons

  • It not compatible with the wind

Review

The Warlock is your beadless disc that you can use for approach shots that doesn’t need a skip fade ranging about 200 feet.

It has a significantly small amount of glide but it’s perfect for doing slight anny or spin putts regardless of which hold you’re comfortable with.

Although rated as stable, this putter seems to be more on the overstable side which you could utilize for short upshots. This is particularly an uncommon possibility for most putters.

The Warlock is shallow enough that, if you have shorter fingers, allows you to have control and a more solid hold on the putter. That is not enough, though, to make it your off-the-tee disc.

This putter comes in on firm plastics, but its performance highly depends on the weather– some Gateway plastics offer more grip during the winter than the others.

Pros

  • Seems to be more overstable than most putters
  • Is comfortable no matter what type of hold is used
  • Has a fairly predictable flight pattern
  • Is relatively easy to use for any skill level

Cons

  • Needs the corresponding plastic for different weathers
  • Not good for off-the-tee shots

Review

If you’re looking for a straight-flying Gateway putter that could handle a bit more power and wind, then the Voodoo would definitely make it in your bag.

It starts as a super straight disc with a bit of fade but gains more glide and loses a bit of its fade as the disc is beaten.

This beginner-friendly disc has a remarkably consistent flight pattern– a dead-straight glide with the slightest predictable fade finish.

Depending on your arm speed, you can easily manipulate the finish of this putter to either fade, stay straight, or make a slight turn.

With its stability, you can make it hold a line even on headwinds and still reliably “stick” to the chains for that putt.

Take note, though, that some of its plastics become damaged when used on warmer weathers.

Pros

  • Could handle some wind and power
  • Is fairly controllable and predictable
  • Flies fairly straight

Cons

  • A warmer weather could damage their softer plastics

Review

The Magic is your disc if you’re looking for a Gateway putter that is fairly deep but is still grippy enough to make excellent drives and putts.

You can make this putter glide quite the distance of about 250 feet without using much effort and still make it “stick” to the chains well.

Although it can go for a considerable amount of distance, it would flip over if you throw it with too much strength or release it late. As an understable disc, this beginner-friendly disc does not perform well on windy situations.

It’s an exceptional disc for making approach shots and getting some extra distance considering how floaty it is– especially on long hyzers and floaty anhyzers.

Pros

  • Is excellent for drives and putts
  • Could go quite the distance with minimal effort
  • Could be used by any player skill level
  • Could travel a significant distance

Cons

  • Is not compatible with much wind
  • Flips over when released with too much strength

Best Innova Control Drivers 2022

No ratings yet.

In this article, Disc Golf Action will highlight and compare the best Innova control drivers 2022 along with an attached review to help you understand the options available and narrow down your choice to the most suitable discs for you.

When it comes to long and accurate shots in disc golf, there is nothing more important than a good fairway driver. A developing player needs to carry different types of discs for different types of situations. To many, the most important disc that one must carry is the control or fairway driver.

Not only does a fairway driver allow a player to make a standard straight shot, but it also lets you combat harsh winds during the game. Compared with a distance driver, a fairway driver has a thinner rim. A fairway driver is easier to control and will not fade as much at the end of the flight. It is easier to control your shots with less strain your arm.

Fairway drivers can still go for good distance when using correct disc golf throwing technique.  For beginners, control drivers often provide more distance than distance drivers as these discs are designed to be thrown with less arm speed required. Overstable fairway drivers don’t provide great distance but are extremely useful in high winds. so it is best to keep one with you at all times while competing.

Innova is the #1 disc golf manufacturer in the world. The Innova brand has been manufacturing quality plastics and molds for different kinds of disc drivers since 1983. They are the most widely distributed and if you are new to disc golf this is a brand you likely are familiar with. Innova has the largest selection of disc molds and control drivers for every shot type.

Here is a table of summary containing the specifications of the best Innova control drivers that are recommended in this article:

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA TEEBIRD
Diameter 21.1cm
Height 1.6 cm
Rim Depth 1.2 cm
Rim Width 1.7 cm
Max Weight 175 grams

REVIEW:

The Teebird is one of the best Innova control drivers in the market that is known for its consistency and dependability. It rarely turns out of control or swerves to the right—and even if it does, it will simply come back and finish left. It is also known for its pinpoint accuracy and distance, making it perfect for throwing through different obstacles.

A very versatile driver, the Teebird is one of the most classic discs offered by the brand. It is also reputed to be the driver of choice for many intermediate and advanced players due to its ability to help them increase their control and give off more distance without exerting much effort.

Thanks to its amazing, straight-flight path, the Teebird disc fades well when it starts to slow down. These make the Teebird a great choice for those who like having their control discs land where they expect it to.

It is also recognized for its capacity to perform different shots superbly, regardless if the player throws it using a backhand or forehand throw. This makes the Teebird perfect for any type of player.

One downside to the Treebird, however, is that, despite giving off great flex shots and hook shots when thrown at anhyzer angles and released on a hyzer angle, respectively, its disc plastic can get chewed up quickly. This may have to do with the fact that its plastic is exceptionally soft.

Pros

  • Great for straight flights with a little left fade at the end
  • Recommended by intermediate and expert players
  • Lightweight without sacrificing performance

Cons

  • Disc plastic is exceptionally soft, so it can be chewed up quickly

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA TEEBIRD3
Diameter 21.2 cm
Height 1.5 cm
Rim Depth 1.1 cm
Rim Width 1.7 cm
Max Weight 176 g

REVIEW:

Compared to the Teebird, this Innova control driver flies faster, although the difference is barely noticeable. With a 0 rating for turning, the disc is stable and does not turn left or right; it simply flies straight. Together with its fade rating of 2 and speed rating of 8, it veers slightly to the left and lands there, thereby making the specifications of the Teebird3 more accurate.

The flatter-top design is a massive help to the gliding of the Innova Teebird3. A clear reduction in its gliding makes it more predictable and ensures that the disc will not fade back early without reaching its maximum distance.

Pros

  • Beginner-friendly
  • Can provide lots of control
  • Offers greater stability and lesser glide

Cons

  • May not be a good choice for those who prefer excitement in their plays

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA TEEBIRD-L
Diameter 21.1 cm
Height 1.6 cm
Rim Depth 1.2 cm
Rim Width 1.8 cm
Max Weight 186 g

REVIEW:

More commonly known as the Innova TL, the Innova Teebird-TL glides longer in the air, which results in a greater travel distance.

When thrown flat, it travels straightforwardly with a few fades upon descent.  It is perfect for tight shots that do not require a lot of hyzer, mid-range to long-range forehand shots, turnover shots, and touch shots.

One thing we didn’t like about this control driver, however, is that it is flippy and unpredictable, as to be expected from disc plastics. It can also be overpowered easily if you throw it faster than you normally would.

In addition to that, this disc also beats in quick and gets heavier when turning.

Pros

  • Great for beginners and for players who don’t have a developed arm
  • Dependable for shots that need to go laser straight
  • Highly versatile

Cons

  • Has a slightly less fade when it is about to end its flight

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA LEOPARD
Diameter 21.2 cm
Height 1.6 cm
Rim Depth 1.1 cm
Rim Width 1.6 cm
Max Weight 165 g

REVIEW:

The Innova Leopard is a disc that can be used by anyone regardless of their skill level. It flies straight, flies long, and only fades slightly when it comes to landing. It is also great for turnover shots.

Many players view the Leopard as the best Innova control driver for beginners because of its effectiveness and ease of throw while flying straight. It travels large distances even if thrown weakly, making it perfect for beginners with untrained throwing arm muscles.

This Innova control driver also works well when the hole curves to the right, and you need to do a turnover shot. Its versatility adds to its suitability as a perfect tool for helping you improve your skills.

Although useful for gentle hyzers, long straight shots, and turnover shots, many disc golf enthusiasts agree that the Leopard flies great with anhyzer shots, roller shots, and straight line drivers.

One downside to this disc, however, is that in the inexpensive base plastic it can easily get scratches or dents. This may be because of its plastic, which is too soft and can be susceptible to damage.

Pros

  • Can be learned easily by a beginner
  • A great, all-around disc
  • Provides greater control during a game

Cons

  • Its disc plastic is too soft

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA LEOPARD3
Diameter 21.2 cm
Height 1.6 cm
Rim Depth 1.1 cm
Rim Width 1.6 cm
Max Weight 180 g

REVIEW:

At first touch, you can feel the disc’s stiffness that stabilizes it when flying. The Innova Leopard3 goes in a long and straight line and has minimal fade when it comes to the end of its flight—all while maintaining its excellent speed.

However, the stiffness does have its downside—it makes it hard to create turnover discs and hyzer turns. Although achievable by exerting tremendous power, you can also soften the disk after using it for some time.

Its speed is really commendable since it is a lot faster and straighter than the original Innova Leopard. Innova advertised it to have a reverse question mark-shaped flight, and this can be seen when the disc is thrown in a flat release. It would hold straight for more than half its flight, then turn a little to the left or the right—depending on how you throw—and comes back to the center.

Pros

  • Offers greater stability and more options for your style of play
  • Does not take much to get some distance
  • Has a consistent flight pattern that’s ideal for beginner players without much arm speed

Cons

  • Its stiffness can make it undesirable for hyzer turns and turnover discs

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA VALKYRIE
Diameter 21.1 cm
Height 1.4 cm
Rim Depth 1.2 cm
Rim Width 1.9 cm
Max Weight 176 g

REVIEW:

The Innova Valkyrie is one of the best Innova control drivers in the market. It comes with a comfortable grip as well as beginner-friendly characteristics. Its lighter weight makes it easier to control compared to the other items in this lineup.

Aside from the fact that it’s easier to predict where the Innova Valkyrie will land, being lightweight also helps boost the distance that it can travel. It offers a learning curve, which may be a deal-breaker for experts, but it is perfect for those who are just starting to learn and enjoy the game. This can improve their form and skill level.

One downside to the Valkyrie, though, is that it lacks a little bit of speed and does not glide as gracefully as one would hope. Additionally, although it is ideal for backhand throws, it is too unstable when used with forehand throws. It is far more effortless to control when used for solid turnover shots and rollers.

Pros

  • Excellent for beginning players
  • Can help you improve your form and skills
  • Its lighter weight makes it easier to control

Cons

  • Offers a learning curve, which may not be preferable for experts
  • Lacks a bit of speed and does not glide too gracefully

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA FIREBIRD
Diameter 21.1 cm
Height 1.4 cm
Rim Depth 1.2 cm
Rim Width 1.9 cm
Max Weight 175 g

REVIEW:

The Innova Firebird may be one of the best Innova control drivers there is. It can fly very long distances while traveling short distances with a controlled fade, thereby helping you land where you want it to.

Widely considered by many to be an overstable disc, the Firebird gives off power shots when needed.  The disc has a high wind resistance, which helps cut through the wind when gusts of wind blow now and then in the playing grounds.

An excellent disc for upwind distance driving, it can do any shot you want it to do, whether it’s a hyzer, anhyzer, roller shot, or turnover shot. It might not have the best glide in the market, but that is only one of the few downsides of this Innova control driver.

Another thing that can make it a deal-breaker for players is that the Firebird is not suitable for beginners. It requires arm strength for this disc to achieve the right speed to carry out its potential and follow its flight pattern. Hence, it is only ideal for advanced players.

Pros

  • Great for straight flights with a little left fade at the end
  • Recommended by intermediate and expert players
  • Lightweight without sacrificing performance

Cons

  • Does not have the best glide in the market
  • Not suitable for beginners

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA THUNDERBIRD
Diameter 21.2 cm
Height 1.6 cm
Rim Depth 1.1 cm
Rim Width 1.9 cm
Max Weight 175175 g

REVIEW:

More commonly known as the longer Teebird, the Innova Thunderbird acquires the same flight property as the former control driver model. It may not have the best fade in this list, but it has the same great speed and stability as the Valkyrie and the Teebird.

The good thing about the Thunderbird is that it does not sacrifice quality; although it can travel long distances, it can still be controlled with a justifiable grip.

The Thunderbird is a stable control driver and travels straightforwardly, but it does fade a little to the left, therefore making a slight turn. It works well in a moderately windy place, but when the winds start blowing strongly, they cannot rip through.

It has a minimal glide that makes it perfect for anhyzer shots. Despite its cons, the Thunderbird driver is an extremely reliable disc and can perform the way you want it.

Pros

  • Can travel long distances, but can still be controlled with a justifiable grip
  • A stable control driver that travels straightforwardly

Cons

  • May not work best in strongly windy playing grounds
  • May not have the best fade in the market

DIMENSIONS OF THE INNOVA ROADRUNNER
Diameter 21.1 cm
Height 1.4 cm
Rim Depth 1.2 cm
Rim Width 1.8 cm
Max Weight 150 g

REVIEW:

The Innova Roadrunner is another control driver meant for beginners because of its ease of throw. It can travel in a straight path without you needing to exert much power and can glide in the air for a long time at an average speed.

Although it may not be the most stable disc created by Innova, it has a low-degree fade, which makes it ideal for long, straight shots. It can also help newbies to improve their forehand and backhand throws through time.

As for intermediate players, it is good to have the Roadrunner around since it can be used to maneuver through difficult obstacles while trying to get a good distance. It can also be used for distance shots and is one of the best in doing short anhyzer shots.

Despite that, one disadvantage of the Roadrunner is that experienced players may need a heavier weight to prevent the disc from getting too flippy.

Pros

  • High ease of throw
  • Ideal for long, straight shots

REVIEW:

Recognized by many as the classic, super overstable, and the best Innova control driver, the Innova Viper travels a lot of distance and has an enormous glide that makes it great for intermediate and advanced players. Since the disc fades a lot, it would be best to practice tricky shots with the Viper before trying them in a competition.

It might take some time to get used to its fade, but once you get the hang of it, it offers magnificent accuracy and consistency that no other Innova disc may offer.

The Viper works best with backhand approach shots and in all wind conditions. It usually fades to the left, and after a little while, fades to the right, then lands a little veered off to the right. It is an excellent sidearm driver and has great control even if released shakily. It can also be used to maneuver through tricky obstacles.

One thing you should know about this driver, though, is that it dies fairly harder than its projected fade when thrown without enough power. It also has a pretty insane rim curve that many players may not be comfortable with.

Pros

  • Very overstable while still remaining controllable
  • Performs well in all wind conditions
  • Provides magnificent accuracy and consistency once you get used to its fade

Cons

  • Not recommended for beginners
  • Its old rim and large diameter may scare some players off

Overall

Many may not consider control drivers as the most vital discs in disc golf, but Innova control drivers absolutely should form part of your playing arsenal if you want controlled, accurate flights in your play.

What classifies an Innova disc as a Fairway Driver?

Innova classifies discs with speeds from 6-8 as fairway drivers.  The speed rating on a golf disc is the first number in the four digit flight ratings.  The speed rating is primarily determined by the thickness of the rim. Innova fairway drivers all have rim widths between 1.6 and 1.9cm. Innova discs with rim widths more than 1.9cm are classified as Distance Drivers.

This speed rating is somewhat controversial as discs like the Thunderbird, Roadrunner and Valkyrie are usually used and classified by disc golfers as control drivers. On Innova’s website, these discs are listed as Distance Drivers.

After reading and comparing the best Innova control drivers featured in this article, we hope you have found the Innova fairway drivers that are best for you.

Best Distance Drivers For Beginners

There are various types of disc golf discs, and good beginner distance drivers are one of them.

As their names suggest, distance drivers are a special type of disc golf discs that enable distance throwers to smash drives even over 183 meters.

Known as the farthest-flying discs in disc golf, distance drivers have a sharp and aerodynamic edge that gives them the greatest potential to eat up some serious distance while in flight.

Although many do not consider them the best choice for newer players, beginner distance drivers are a good option if your loved one wants to get a good distance while learning how to control their throws.

Below are three of the best distance drivers that we recommend for beginners:

1. Thrasher by Discraft (4.61 out of 5.0 stars)

Recommended skill level Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Plastic grade(s) Basic (cheapest), Durable, Midgrade, Premium
Price $13.99 to $15.99

Review

Manufactured by Discraft, the Thrasher is a great starter distance driver that is meant for fast and easy releases for those who have slow to average arm speeds.

Given its higher speed rating, the Thrasher is a good disc if your loved one wants to practice their forehand shots, backhand shots, long turnover shots, and tunnel shots. This is possible because of the easy control and glide it gives its users.

Its versatility makes it a great choice for multiple purposes. Depending on the angle of the user’s throw, they can make the Discraft Thrasher turn, fly straight, or fade to finish.

It is also an excellent choice for hyzer flips, as well as holding anhyzer lines without completely flipping over.

Despite its advantages, the Thrasher still has its own set of cons. For one, players with bigger hands and bigger arms may not be fond of its small rim. Also, it is not the best driver for very windy days since it tends to turn and burn when thrown into some lighter headwinds.

Pros

  • Is a versatile disc that can be used for various throws
  • Offers easy control and glide

Cons

  • Has a small rim
  • Is not a very good wind fighter

2. Sail by DGA (4.53 out of 5.0 stars)

Glide 6.0
Turn -3.0
Fade 1.0
Stability Understable
Recommended skill level Beginner, Everyone
Plastic grade(s) Durable, Premium
Price $13.99 to $14.49

Review

Made by DGA, the Sail disc is an ideal option for anyone who wants their distance driver to not fade back.

It boasts a really long hang time that is worthy of its name. In fact, no matter how steep, the disc would keep on sailing incredibly straight and could even reach 152 meters.

This disc makes a nice present for players with a low arm speed and who want to know how to throw hyzer flips and smooth, anhyzer glides.

One of the things that we didn’t like about the Sail, though, is that it does not hold forehand rollers particularly well. Users with higher arm speeds may also need to regulate their power if they don’t want to turn and burn every single time they throw it. Aside from that, the plastic didn’t feel grippy enough to get a strong release.

Pros

  • Has an amazing glide that can get you some sweet distance
  • Is a good control driver for beginners who want to learn how to get their form down

Cons

  • Does not seem to hold forehand rollers particularly well
  • Has a plastic that isn’t grippy enough for strong releases

Price $13.99 to $19.99

Review

Designed for Latitude 64’s Easy-to-Use line, the Sapphire is a light, fast, and easy-to-control distance driver with an awesome grip.

If your beginner friend has small hands or has a slow arm speed, then this disc is a good match for them.

Its lightweight nature and rim height make it easier to throw smooth releases. The disc also offers an impressive glide to give your loved ones a decent, long throw.

In spite of that, the Sapphire is surprisingly resistant to throws below the low 160s weight class. It can also get a bit touchier in a headwind, likely due to it being light.

Pros

  • Is an extraordinary choice for beginners with small hands or less arm speed
  • Offers an impressive glide

Cons

  • Its lightweight nature can make it a bit touchier in a headwind
  • Is surprisingly resistant to throws below the low 160s weight class

Best Fairway Drivers For Beginners

Newer disc golfers usually try to look for ways to increase the distance of their game while still maintaining control and consistency.

Oftentimes, they can find these in fairway drivers.

Also referred to as controlled drivers, fairway drivers are easier to control than distance drivers due to their slightly smaller rims, more blunt edge, and less distance potential.

Here are some of our best fairway drivers for beginners:

1. Sphinx by Infinite Discs (4.89 out of 5.0 stars)

Price $8.99 to $18.99

Review

Manufactured by Infinite Discs, the Sphinx is a great starter fairway driver that you can give as a present for someone who wants a crossover between a distance driver and a control driver. The disc does not fade too soon and covers as much distance as 91 meters, even in lighter weights.

An absolute game-changer for beginners, this control driver gets users just enough turn and fade to create a beautifully shaped flight that ends in a fairly straight course. A strong hyzer and a forced turnover shot are also possible with the Sphinx.

It is absolutely plain fun to throw, with a grippy and durable plastic that gives you an effortless distance. Players with bigger arms will find it a solid disc for every day and every shot, but it is especially perfect for rollers and giant anhyzers.

Pros

  • Has a top-notch plastic
  • Is easy to throw and ideal for any player who wants to improve their game
  • Flips up and soars dead straight for so long

Cons

  • Might seem slightly overstable for newbie disc golfers

Stability Understable
Recommended skill level Beginner, Everyone
Plastic grade(s) Basic (cheapest), Midgrade, Premium
Price $11.99 to $15.95

Review

Designed by Legacy, the Patriot fairway driver gives fantastic control for players with slower arm speed who are looking for a decent distance and a straight drive.

You could easily do wooded throws, flip-up bombers, and hyzer flip to straight shots with the Patriot. Not only is its rim a comfortable choice for touch shots and high power throws, but it also glides for a considerable amount of time.

Being super glidey and straight-flying, this is one of the best control drivers for beginners because it soars true to its numbers. Just take note that it might not be as understable as marketed.

Pros

  • Has a rim that is comfortable for touch shots and high power shots
  • Flies true to its numbers

Cons

  • Might not be as understable as Legacy would like to you believe

3. Diamond by Latitude 64 (4.67 out of 5.0 stars)

Glide 6.0
Turn -3.0
Fade 1.0
Stability Understable
Recommended skill level Beginner
Plastic grade(s) Basic (cheapest), Durable, Premium
Price $14.99 to $19.99

Review

Another disc golf driver by Latitude 64, the Diamond comes recommended in this list of the best disc golf gifts for beginners because it provides one of the best grips that allows users to throw it confidently.

Even with an average arm speed, you can flip this disc on a hyzer backhand, and it would still seem to glide forever.

Latitude 64’s Diamond is a favorite as a result of its controllability and predictability for an understable disc golf disc. However, it is not compatible with players with a dominant sidearm.

Instead, you can give this to someone who is struggling to get a proper grip with their small hands and really want to get that straight shot.

We do not recommend using it in windy situations. A couple of improvements we also suggest is the turn and the fade since it does not really turn, and the fade is close to none.

Pros

  • Provides one of the best grips for beginners
  • Is controllable and predictable for an understable fairway driver

Cons

  • Is not compatible for sidearm-dominant players
  • Is not recommended for windy days
  • The turn and fade could still be improved

Best Midranges For Beginners

For disc golfers who are searching for a happy medium between a driver and a putter, midranges are the answer.

Considered by many to be an excellent choice for their first disc, midranges have a large diameter that allows them to cover longer distances than putters while gliding.

They often offer straighter flights, while their smaller, rounded rims make them a comfortable option for users of all hand sizes and skill levels.

We have enumerated three of our best midranges for beginners below:

1. Leviathan by Divergent Discs (5.0 out of 5.0 stars)

Leviathan

Glide 4.0
Turn -4.0
Fade 0.0
Stability Understable
Recommended skill level Beginner
Plastic grade(s) Premium
Price $9.99

Review

Designed by Divergent Discs, Leviathan is an easy-to-throw, understable midrange disc for new players looking for minimal fades. It has a small diameter and a mostly flat top that makes it very fade-resistant.

The Leviathan is a great present for low-power beginners who just want to get straight flights on short distances.

It’s also an excellent disc to practice your friend’s or loved one’s accuracy. Considering how much they can grip it, this midrange is a good choice if they want to easily make good snaps and spins.

While the plastic feel of the Leviathan is outstanding, it isn’t quite as durable. Furthermore, we don’t recommend it as a go-to for players who want to cover more than 61 meters.

Pros

  • Is a fabulous addition for low-power beginners
  • Is easy to throw and very grippy
  • Provides minimal fades

Cons

  • The plastic isn’t quite as durable as particular users might prefer
  • Is not recommended for long distances

Turn 0.0
Fade 1.0
Stability Stable
Recommended skill level Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Plastic grade(s) Durable, Premium
Price $15.99

Review

Manufactured by Thought Space Athletics, Pathfinder is considered one of the best midranges for beginners because it can glide at high elevations.

Even with some power behind their throw, they could rely on this golf disc to not turn around or burn. Although stable, it is a consistent, surprisingly straight flyer that ends its flights with minimal fades.

However, despite the fact that the Pathfinder works well when throwing fading hyzer shots that need plenty of drift, it is a little flippy and a bit too touchy. It does not have much lift, so players really can’t expect it to bounce in the air when they throw it down.

Pros

  • Has a spectacular glide level at high elevations
  • Is a consistent straight flyer with minimal fades at the end of its flights

Cons

  • Can be a little flippy and touchy
  • Does not have much lift, so air bounce is not to be expected when thrown down

Review

Made by XCom, the Griffon is one of the best starter midranges for new disc golfers who struggle with early fades. The Griffon makes it easy for them to straighten out that throw.

Although it could be more flippy than some players would like, the Griffon by XCom can be a great choice for new players. In fact, it is highly recommended for any disc golfer with slow arm speed. Lightweight and doesn’t fade at the end of its flights, it is a fun disc for soft throws and fairly straight glides.

Its durability is adequate, however, and its soft plastic, while feels good in your hand, will leave you wondering how long it will hold up over time.

Pros

  • Is ideal for disc golf beginners with slow arm speed
  • Is a great choice for soft throws and straight glides

Cons

  • Has an adequate durability

Best Putters For Beginners

Finishing a hole at short distances is one of the primary uses of a putter disc, but that’s not all there is to it.

Having the deepest, slowest, and thinnest rims among all types of disc golf discs means that putters, when used well, can be an extremely important scoring tool in any game.

Although less dynamic than distance drivers, fairway drivers, and midranges put together, putters are the best in landing more softly. This enables players to accurately place their putter discs exactly where they want the disc to be.

Review

A putt and approach disc by Divergent Discs, Narwhal is a great disc golf gift for beginners because of its comfortable, beadless rim design that goes for straight, short-distance flights.

It feels great on the hand, with its dome shape and strong grip. When released flat on a right-handed, backhand throw, it flies dead straight with zero to minimal fades. On the other hand, putting power when throwing it makes it turn over easily.

Overall, the Narwhal is one of the best disc golf gifts for beginners since it can shape shots and has pretty accurate flight numbers.

Pros

  • Has a comfortable rim design and accurate flight ratings
  • Is an amazing option for shaping shots

Cons

  • The plastic is less favorable when compared to K1

Made by Infinite Discs, the Tomb is one of the best disc golf gifts for beginners who prefer flat-topped, low-profile putters with smooth rims.

A reliable disc for any type of disc golf shot, the Tomb in the MF Glow C-Blend plastic feels stiffer than the S-Blend but is durable and grippy nonetheless. Although it is more stable than the S-Blend, it can still retain its glide, which makes it excellent for when the wind picks up.

Disc golf beginners would find the Tomb an excellent putter off the tee, especially with the Concrete Blend, since it is more torque-resistant and has a dependable flight without being overstable.

Although it cannot be recommended enough for touch shots and powered-up shots, the Tomb by Infinite Discs has a thin plastic strip that runs around the center of the rim and can prevent it from feeling perfect out of the box.

Another thing to note is that it has a beaded design, which may only work for players who don’t mind it.

Pros

  • Can be relied on for any type of disc golf shot
  • Its C-Blend plastic is more durable and stable than its S-Blend counterpart without losing its glide
  • The C-Blend is also more resistant to torques without being overstable

Cons

  • Has a thin plastic strip in the rim center that detracts from having a “perfect feel” right out of the box
  • Players who dislike beaded designs may not like the Tomb’s small bead

Rounding up the best disc golf gifts for beginners in this review is the Maiden putter by Westside.

If your beginner loved one is looking for a low-profile putter that is solid on hand and releases cleanly, then this is the putt and approach disc for them.

The Maiden flies dead-straight with a spin and a very slight, reliable fade. Its height makes it an easy-to-grip disc for consistent throws. Additionally, no matter how much power you throw it with, the Maiden putter will almost always land flat.

With a flat profile, straight flight, and incredible torque resistance, this putter is very forgiving and is an awesome choice for players with smaller hands, spin puts, and the degree of control needed  for a flick approach.

Users need to bear in mind, though, that they have to be on with their angles to appreciate what the Maiden can achieve. It may also be a little slick and overstable for some newbies’ preference.

Pros

  • Is a low-profile putter that can both throw and putt
  • Is a versatile disc that soars straight and has a great glide
  • The VIP plastic feels grippy enough and durable

Cons

  • Players will need to be on with their angles to appreciate it more
  • Can be a little overstable sometimes

What Should I Consider In Choosing The Best Disc Golf Gifts For Beginners?

One of the things you have to know when picking out the best disc golf gifts for beginners is that newbie disc golfers will usually need the following disc types: a driver, a midrange, and a putter.

Of course, you can just pick out one of these discs for a present, but if you really want to be supportive of your loved ones learning the sport, you might consider buying a disc set for them.

In addition, flight ratings are another factor you will need to take into account. No disc flight rating can be considered better or worse than others, but you have to know that different flight numbers indicate suitability to a variety of play styles.

Conclusion

REVIEW

As a high-speed distance driver that is comfortable to the hand, Latitude 64’s Recoil has the overstability and durability that is expected for a high-performance disc.

With its 2.2 cm rim width and overstability, it’s comfortable enough to throw hard to reach over 450 feet. The driver does not just go far; it also has a very reliable flight pattern. In fact, it can fly dead-straight, with a rather strong fade in the end.

Its various plastics have their own perks and unique characteristics, but they are all quite the long gliders and wind fighters.

Regardless, the Recoil requires quite the amount of arm strength to throw, so it’s not recommended for beginners or players with low arm strength.

PROS

  • Is great for those with powerful arms
  • Can cover really great distances
  • Fairs well with strong winds
  • Is comfortable and quite controllable

CONS

  • Covers a distance that greatly depends on how strongly you throw it
  • Is not beginner-friendly

REVIEW

With its ideal balance of speed, glide and stability, Latitude 64’s Ballista is your go-to distance driver for navigating those tight and tricky fairways.

Finding another disc with a 14 speed rating in the market is not particularly easy—more so when it’s accompanied with a glide rating of 4. However, with Ballista’s ratings alone, you have a one-of-a-kind, super-fast long-glider.

With just a little bit of backhand anhyzer, you can let the disc go dead-straight and then fade hardly at around 80% of its flight. With a forehand anhyzer, you’ll be able to do a decent flex shot that will reach you over 350 feet.

With its overstability, headwinds do not pose much of a problem for the disc. The mold does beat relatively quick, though, and becomes rather unstable when faced with strong headwinds.

PROS

  • Has a reliable flight pattern
  • Is good for passing through tight and tricky fairways
  • Is true to its unique speed and glide rating

CONS

  • Is not for players with weak arms
  • Requires practice to get used to
  • Is rather unstable in headwinds once the disc is beaten in

REVIEW

On a lighter part of the deal, the Sapphire disc golf disc from Latitude 64 is a distance driver that  is designed for distance and ease of use.

As a fast, easy-to-grip, and easy-to-control driver, it has a lot of lightweight options that are built to make things easier for new players and players with smaller hands and/or weaker arms.

It has the capability of holding repeatable and predictable lines so much that it’s good enough to fine-tune a player’s max throws. You just have to familiarize yourself with its touch-sensitive tendencies.

The Sapphire tends to have a very wide and flexible flight pattern, so you need quite the area to fully utilize it. As such, it’s not a good driver for heavily wooded courses or any other tight courses.

While it does not fare well with headwinds given its lightweight nature, you can find that it is more stable than most lightweight discs.

It might not be a dead-straight distance driver with its S-like pattern, but it’s a good point-and-shoot disc that goes wherever you want it to.

PROS

  • Can fight against moderate headwinds even with its lightweight nature
  • Is geared for players with weaker arms and/or smaller hands
  • Is a good disc for fine-tuning max drives
  • Is a good point-and-shoot disc

CONS

  • Needs a wide enough area to fully utilize
  • Is not good with tight spaces and heavily wooded courses
  • Can be touch-sensitive, so it may take a while to get used to

REVIEW

As a fairway driver that is good for both backhand and forehand, the Culverin covers you a good distance in a predictable manner.

This reliable control driver from Latitude 64 is overstable—but not too overstable that you won’t reach far. It flies a dependable straight pattern before fading, so you’ll be able to reach over 350 feet.

You might be pleased to know that it can also fight out strong headwinds and give a great glide while maintaining its versatility.

In fact, as a very versatile control driver, the Culverin can flip to flat when thrown on a hyzer, can turnover ever so slightly before fading, and can also do flex shots.

It might not be for beginners and players with weaker arm speeds, but you can definitely rely on the Culverin to go through or go around precise and tricky gaps.

PROS

  • Can cover rather long distances with great control
  • Has a dependable flight pattern
  • Can fight strong headwinds with great glide
  • Is very versatile
  • Can be depended upon for precise shots

CONS

  • Is not compatible for beginners and players with weak arms
  • Lessens in speed and stability once beaten in
  • Is not good for pure hyzer shots that aimsto predictably fade out quickly

Price $14.99

REVIEW

As a beginner-friendly fairway driver, Latitude 64’s Diamond has just the right balance of speed, turn, and glide to give weak-armed players the maximum distance they are looking for.

Aside from getting a good amount of distance as a fairway driver, the Diamond can be a great disc for improving your form. Not only that, but with its relatively smaller rim and comfortable plastics, your grip will feel very comfortable whenever you’re getting ready to run this disc through the course.

As a versatile and controllable disc, it’s quite the reliable partner for tunnel and other tricky shots. It’s also very easy to learn backhand-based shots with the Diamond.

When thrown on a hyzer, it will flip to flat sail back towards the middle. It can also hold an anhyzer that would then glide to flat and end with a fade.

As a glidey understable control driver, it can go over 350 feet, but it can also become too flippy for you and later turn into a throwler. In addition, it does not fare well with strong winds and players who are sidearm-dominant.

PROS

  • Can cover a good amount of distance
  • Is very controllable and predictable
  • Can be a good learning partner for backhand throws
  • Is very comfortable to the hands
  • Has just the right balance of speed, glide, and turn as a start for beginners

CONS

  • Is not compatible with players who are dominant on sidearm throws
  • May be too flippy
  • Can turn into a throwler
  • Holds less use as players advance in skill

REVIEW

A very overstable control driver that can be your perfect firebird, Latitude 64 Discs’ Pioneer is the one for you! Throwing it flat will give you a dependable fade, while throwing it with a hyzer drive will give you a hard dump.

You might be surprised to know that the Pioneer disc golf disc fades nicely after around 250 feet. It just needs a powerful launching arm to throw the disc cleanly.

This disc is extremely great for forehand grips, but it is a bit shallow for backhands. Pioneer is more of a hook-and-skip type that will come out of your hand very fast and almost instantly.

PROS

  • Feels good in the hand
  • Has reliable fade

CONS

  • Is a bit touchy with anhyzer
  • Can only be for strong arms

REVIEW

A point-and-shoot disc with enough beef to hold a nice crank but not so much that it would turn over, Latitude 64 Discs’ Claymore is accurate for tunnel shots and pinning to get that extra distance. With a straight flight, it will be useful for both beginners and players in the advanced level.

You do not have to worry if you want to throw entire rounds with a disc. After all, you can confidently throw Claymore at around 350 to 400 feet.

Throwing this disc with full power can make you depend on its 10 to 15 degrees turn when necessary. So, do not be afraid of doing a turnover drive!

PROS

  • Can be thrown flat, on a hyzer line, or using an anhyzer shot
  • Can be thrown a lot of different lines

  • Can’t handle too much power

REVIEW

Latitude 64 Discs’ Compass disc golf disc has enough fade to have a dead-straight flight, but what makes it even more awesome is that it is very torque-resistant as well. In fact, it can literally do anything you want it to do.

Throw it on an angle if you want a hyzer throw, and you will see how this disc will hold itself very nicely and similarly for every other angle. Compass will be that workhorse you have been eyeing on, as it feels amazing on the hand with its flat top and deep rim.

With a flat release, you can expect this disc to turn slightly before fading softly and even get a lot of distance of about 275 feet.

PROS

  • Is a great straight midranger
  • Is easy to throw

CONS

  • Might not be as overstable as you would expect

REVIEW

Latitude 64 Discs’ Sarek is a reliable putt and approach disc that you can utilize for any rough situation on the disc golf course. Unfortunately, Latitude 64 discontinued their double mold line and so these discs are not readily available for sale as new discs any longer.

When thrown at an anhyzer angle, this disc holds the line and gently fades back to flat. On the other hand, if you want to do straight shots, you need to do a hyzer flip to give it a flat release.

Sarek is an exceptional approach disc that can hold any line you want. Even with its deep rim, you can put up with it comfortable since this disc will surely not disappoint you.

You just need to have amazing control before you can expect it to deliver a long-lasting glide and a great flight. Distance is no problem as well since it can take up around 250 feet.

PROS

  • Is great for anhyzer drives and upshots
  • Is great for long putts

  • Not reliable into a headwind

REVIEW

As the possibly straightest-flying putt and approach disc ever, Latitude 64 Discs’ Pure is the non-beaded putter you are looking for! Its flight is consistent enough that it has minimal to no spit-outs from the basket and does not roll away.

Pure can correct your form and is perfect for driving short holes. As a matter of fact, it is a workhorse for throwing off the tee and working on your angles for releases to make different flights.

This disc stays true to its ratings and flies straight with clean releases and can reach up to 100 to 300 feet. You can rely on its glide, turn, and fade, as well as its moderate torque resistance.

PROS

  • Is great for approach shots
  • Seems to fight wind a bit better

  • Only for those who are okay with beaded putters

REVIEW

Latitude 64 Discs’ Keystone is the beadless disc with an understable flight path that you would surely like to try. It is an amazing approach disc that has so much glide and that you can send on laser-straight lines with 40 to 60 percent of your arm speed.

Keystone is also great for learning control in your disc golf game because of its sensitivity to the angle of releases. You can also expect a relaxed release for driving or up shots with extra straight distance accuracy. Although it is a forgiving disc, it can target greater precision whatever you ask of it.

PROS

  • Has natural feel out of hands
  • Is great for any odd angle putts, anhyzer putts and tight gaps

CONS

  • Has a marked and pocked edge

Review

If you are looking for a disc that is quite good for pushing shots, the Streamline’s Trace has just the right glide for that. With the reach and comfort present on this driver, you will surely bag this for a long period of time.

When thrown low on a slight anhyzer, you would have a disc that would stay perfectly straight with a nice end-fade. With a hyzer release, on the other hand, you can get a full S-flight that could reach a maximum distance of around 400 feet.

Due to the disc’s stiffness on the rim, it easily gives the disc a lot of torque while still having a smooth release.

Pros

  • Is good for sidearm drives
  • Is great for backhand and forehand
  • Is durable and great for flicking

Cons

  • Turns over easily
  • Is not good for a straight headwind shot

Streamline Discs’ Flare is a reliable companion for your chop forehands, bombs, skip shots, and overhand shots. You can even count on it for those tricky shots you can’t just seem to really get.

It’s also a good distance driver for your forehand throws, especially for those longer anhyzer flips. You can even play this disc during windy days since it fights the wind quite well.

No matter what kind of hold you’re going to use, you can throw this driver very hard and see it fight its way to the ground immediately with a large flaring skip.

You can surely rely on the overstability of the Flare and keep it in your bag.

Pros

  • Doesn’t flip easily
  • Is the best for headwind shots
  • Is comfortable for both forehand and backhand holds

Cons

  • Is not friendly for beginners

Review

As a beginner-friendly understandable distance driver, Streamline’s Lift is a comfortable disc that you can do shaped shots with. Given how you can easily shape your shots with this disc, it’s perfect when you need to overcome wooded courses.

It is also a stiff disc with a rather flat top which makes it a good driver for forehand throws.

With its consistent flight pattern, you can reach a distance of around 400 feet off the tee. For lower-powered players, you can still reach a good distance of 300 feet, easy.

However, with too much snap, this disc would turn and burn on you.

Pros

  • Has a consistent flight pattern
  • Could be used for shaped shots
  • Is excellent for wooded courses
  • Can cover a rather high distance

Cons

  • Does not handle powered shots well

As an extremely versatile disc, Streamline Discs’ Drift is an excellent fairway driver that will surely not disappoint you.

It’s a flyer that stands true to its numbers. You can use it for a right-hand backhand throw for long smooth anhyzer lines, a low swooping hyzer shot, and even long straight tunnel shots.

The Drift can give you the confidence you need on the field given how super consistent and highly predictable this driver is. With a flat throw, it would fly for around 350 feet and give you a beautiful late turn with a balanced fade that will return to the line you throw it on.

Pros

  • Is very beginner friendly
  • Excellent for short hyzers, straight tailwind drives, and long anhyzer shots
  • Has a super consistent and very predictable flight pattern

Review

Streamline’s Runaway is a midrange disc that needs more player skill to fully utilize. However, when you meet that criteria, you’ll surely rely on it greatly given all the things that you can do with this driver.

You will be able to make flick shots quite comfortably and have it consistently fade whenever you don’t roll your wrist on every shot. When thrown on a backhand, this midranger would quickly hook up with a fairly strong forward fade.

It is quite the consistent flyer– glides dead-straight with a very strong end-fade. The amount of its fade depends on how much force you have exerted upon throwing this disc.

It may not have the greatest flight distance, but it’s a midranger that has a great grip and could handle some snap and torque quite well.

Pros

  • Has a very consistent flight
  • Is fairly controllable
  • Has a good grip
  • Could handle snaps and torques quite well

Cons

  • Needs more skill to fully utilize
  • Does not have the greatest flight range

Review

Streamline’s Pilot is your low-profile putter disc that offers a lot of glide with its rounded physique and tiny bead.

It also has a quite predictable flight pattern; throw it with a bit of a hyzer, it will flip up flat and fly dead-straight for a long time, while if you throw it flat, this disc would easily drift. You can also try putting it on a little more angle and see it hold your hyzer line just well.

With the Pilot, you can stay confident when making longer putts without having to change your putting stance. It would also be quite easy for you to score several putts from around 40 feet.

If you can get used to its seemingly longer glide, you could have the most consistent putt and approach disc you can ever hold.

Pros

  • Is slim and makes for clean releases
  • Has good variety of plastic
  • Is comfortable for any shots in any position

Cons

  • Needs a bit of height to take advantage of glide
  • Needs some time to get used to

Review

Streamline’s Stabilizer is your trusty companion as a great dogleg left utility disc for a right-hand backhand and as a great dogleg right utility disc for a forehand.

This is a superb putter that has a fair amount of glide with a good splash of overstability. This allows you to easily do hyzer shots on windy conditions without worrying too much about it being picked up by the wind and flattening out.

The disc feels comfortable in your hand with its rather flat top and fairly deep rim. Given how well it fits in your hand, you can easily do some fade-straight shots around trees.

Take note, however, that it may not be a great choice for beginners because of its overall short distance.

Pros

  • Is great for turnover small fade-straight shots in trees
  • Is grippy and has right amount of flex

Cons

  • Is not for beginner due to the overall flight and short distance

Conclusion

The discs mentioned above are the best golf discs that you can find in Streamline. I hope you get to know about the golf discs here on the list.

With this, it may help you decide which disc to choose that is perfect for your bag. These are all the discs in Streamlines Discs’ market, so feel free to enjoy reading the reviews and bag the disc you’re feeling the most connection with.

Giving you a pretty effortless distance, Discmania Discs’ Enigma should already be in your bag! Just by holding it, your confidence will boost in throwing due to the feel of the disc, both the plastic and shape.

Enigma is a great distance driver for people with power aiming at 374-400 feet. It has a consistent flip or turn, but this disc has enough integrity to fade back at the end.

This disc is at the peak for gorgeous predictable flex drives, so not taking it in would be regrettable. You can aim for a flat release, and it will fly longer with a controllable speed.

One thing we disliked about it, though, is that it has a bit of a ceiling and is hard to anticipate in the face of strong winds.

Pros

  • Is great for forehands aiming max distance
  • Holds hyzer line very well

Cons

  • It has a bit of a ceiling
  • Is hard to anticipate in the wind

Discmania Discs’ Genius is the one for you if you are interested to learn how to hyzer flip! This disc is suitable for a 100% backhand player trying to do a forehand shot.

For a beginner, this disc will give the advantage for them to get some distance and hyzer throw the disc flat. For intermediate players, throwing Genius will have an immediate early turn and slight fade back.

Moreover, those with advanced arms can expect this disc to go straight to anhyzer. As it beats in, it will have much more turn.

After a long time of using this disc, it will eventually be your go-to roller disc. Just take note not to throw it in wooden or rocky courses. Otherwise, you disc may quickly get damaged.

Pros

  • Can work as a mid on an anhyzer line
  • Flies straight at headwind

Cons

  • May quickly get damaged when thrown in wooden or on a rocky course

You can definitely rely on Discmania Discs’ Method for all sorts of shots! If you want to throw this disc flat, you can get a straight flight at the start and a consistent fade when it is halfway through the flight.

On the other hand, the throwing of Method on anhyzer will make it fade front at the beginning and will finish to the left. Now, if it is a hyzer throw, you should expect that this disc will hold the angle you release it into and will not flip at all.

This disc can handle a lot of power just as smoothly as when thrown with touch, with its predictable fade and excellent glide. It can even fight the wind and through trees.

Discmania Discs’ MD is the exact definition of point and shoot. If you throw this disc at any wrist angle, it will stay at that angle the entire time while pushing forward for precise distance. It’s a fantastic disc if you are planning on correcting your errors!

When using this disc on long, straight shots, it does not fight out of the angle and glides straight, while on hyzer shots, it will hold the line and will not flip over. Additionally, if you’re planning on using this disc on anhyzer shots, you can trust that it will hold the line and fight out of the angle, then fade.

Despite its feel not being that good, it is still a beginner disc that new players may like to try due to its perfect combination of glide, speed, and accuracy.

Throwing it with anhyzer, Viking Discs’ Valhalla will get a ton of distance to cover. This disc will also flip up and ride straight, but it depends on your arm speed!

Flying true to the flight numbers, Valhalla is a great and stable driver to fly around 300 to 325 feet. It can also face any moderate headwind and can perform sidearm throws more than 300 feet.

So, if you are thinking of doing powerful shots, this is the perfect time to put Valhalla in the bag. You don’t have to be worried about holding and throwing the disc since this disc is comfortable in the head and is constant once you release it from your hand.

As the best speed driver, Viking Discs’ Thunder God Thor suits its name! With a stable-understable speed of 14, your range would increase to 350 to 400 feet.

There’s more! A name fitting the Norse god of thunder, it has indestructible armor when landing on hard surfaces. With its flat bottom around the rim, it can provide a massive skip at the end.

If you like your disc beefy, then grabbing Thunder God Thor is your fate! Playing in windy situations will not be a problem for you since this disc is a great fighter in the wind. It can even be a long drive that has a lot of fades.

Are you aiming for tunnel shots? Then, grab a Cosmos! It may not be the farthest flyer, but it is consistent. It flies best on the backhand and pretty great on the forehand.

REVIEW

As a super-straight flying midrange disc, Viking Discs’ Barbarian offers you a lot of control alongside a high predictability rating.

You could easily go through any gap with this disc given its seriously dead-straight flight with a small tinge of fade in the end. It’s your go-to point-and-shoot fairway driver that follows your every command.

It might not be able to handle strong headwinds quite well, but the Barbarian could easily take you over 350 feet depending on how strong you throw it. For players with lower arm speed, it’s an excellent fairway driver for them to improve their power throws.

You should take note, though, that there is a bit of an inconsistency in making the mold and getting the good one is like playing a 50/50 percent gacha game: if you got the good part of the deal, then you got yourself a reliable partner. If not, then it would be better to try again.

PROS

  • Has a very high rate of controllability and predictability
  • Is a dead-straight flyer
  • Could cover a good distance of over 350 feet
  • Could be a good disc for improving power

CONS

  • There might be inconsistencies in making the mold
  • Is not good with strong headwinds

Plastic Grade(s) Basic (Cheapest), Durable, Premium
Price $7.95 to $15.49

REVIEW

Viking Discs’ Axe is one of those unique midrange drivers of yours that is sort of a putter disc crossbreed. It has the functions of a midranger while also having a low and slow glidey flight just like a putter has.

It is a dead-straight flyer that embodies the definition of precision and accuracy given the control you can have with this disc. Aside from being comfortable in the hands and being easy to throw, this putter is your go-to point-and-shoot flyer.

If you bomb the Axe, it would hold your line with just the right amount of fade to park wherever you want. Because of its stability, it can also handle quite the amount of power on your throws and those moderate headwinds.

The only downside of the Axe is the issue of the fragility of its plastics. They may feel comfortable with good grips, but they don’t take beatings quite well. A strong collision with a tree might deem the disc unusable forever.

PROS

  • Is a unique midrange-putter crossbreed
  • Has a very straight flight pattern
  • Is fairly comfortable in the hands
  • Has a good amount of accuracy, precision, and controllability
  • Could handle a fair amount of power and headwind

CONS

  • The plastics may not be durable enough to survive a collision

REVIEW

The Nordic Warrior has about the same flight pattern with the Axe, aside from the former having a greater amount of fade amongst other factors.

This easy-to-throw midrange driver has quite the predictable flight; the more power you put into your throws, the more it turns. It glides a lot that, given its speed rating of 4, it could still get you over 250 feet.

Aside from being predictable, it’s also a very controllable driver depending that is most suitable for slow controlled releases. It’s your reliable companion for those glidey upshots that would need a finish towards the left.

Contrary to it being a stable midranger, it may be more understable than stated. Make sure to also mind, though, that the Storm plastic may not feel as much as you want it to.

PROS

  • Is quite controllable depending on the power output you use
  • Has a very predictable flight pattern
  • Could get you to over 250 feet even with low speed

CONS

  • May be more understable with more power on your throws
  • May not feel comfortable and good in the Storm plastic

REVIEW

Viking’s Rune is a remarkable short-range putter disc that you could surely rely on to fly laser-straight into the basket for you. It’s an absolute point-and-shoot disc.

It may not be a good driving putter, but it has a lot of glide albeit its rather slow speed. Also, aside from being a great disc for straddle putts, the Rune is also an excellent putter for uphill shots or those flip-to-flat  hyzer throws.

It may be tricky, however, to catch the chains with this disc given its rather solid physique. Aside from that, this putter would crash straight to the ground if you do not exert enough power into your throws.

PROS

  • Is a great putting disc
  • Has a super straight and consistent flight
  • Is fairly durable with its solid physique
  • Is usable for any player with any skill level

CONS

  • Has a rather low distance coverage
  • May be hard to snatch the chains with
  • Might immediately crash when power is too low

REVIEW

The Knife by Viking Discs is quite the domey putter– flat if you’re using the Ground Plastic– that you can rely on utility putt and approach shots. It’s a disc that is specifically made for backhand throwers that utilize the power and fan grips.

With its stability, this disc could handle the wind quite well and get you over 250 feet. Aside from that, it also has a rather consistent flight pattern of dead-straight with a slight touch of end-fade. It’s even an excellent disc for your turnover shots.

The numbers may suggest it to be an overstable putter, but the Knife has just enough stability to fight a bit against moderate headwinds.

PROS

  • Feels very comfortable in backhand holds
  • Has a consistent flight pattern
  • Is a good utility putter

CONS

  • Does not go well against strong headwinds

Best Prodigy Discs

No ratings yet.

While all of the disc golf manufacturers have suffered from product shortages in 2021, the original Prodigy line has suffered more than just about any other brand in terms of available products right now. It is almost impossible for the average disc golfer to find any substantial selection of Prodigy Discs at any major online disc golf retailer. For this reason, we have primarily just included the products that are available in our best Prodigy Discs of 2022 review. If you are shopping for disc golf discs, it really doesn’t matter how good the discs are if you cannot actually by them.

Here is a summary table showing the Best Prodigy Discs we included in the article. For your convenience, we have further divided them according to the disc types of the sport.

REVIEW

Designed to be an overstable driver for more experienced disc golfers, Prodigy’s D Model OS has the speed and glide to get you over 400 feet with much ease.

When you throw it flat using your left-hand backhand, you get yourself a pretty straight flyer that does a little bit of turn before fighting right back into the wind.

When you throw it on a bit of an anhyzer angle, the headwind would make it hold that exact angle for quite a long time just before flattening out. On a hyzer, it glides and penetrates further before knifing down.

It’s not much, but the D Model OS is rather forgiving since it still flies well with some extra glide even when you fall down while it.

You might not want it to be your main driver because of how weird it feels due to its weird rim shape, but it’s a good overstable disc that won’t flip at all.

PROS

  • Could cover quite the distance
  • Is rather reliable and consistent
  • Is a good compliment for headwinds
  • Is a bit forgiving

CONS

  • Might feel weird
  • Is not good for beginners

REVIEW

A disc with a gentle and dependable fade at the end and flies dead straight, you should have no doubts about putting Prodigy Discs’ D Model S in your bag! Once you throw it on a hyzer line, this disc will straighten out and cover some ground before it begins to fade.

D Model S is a very consistent overstable driver, plus its prime plastic making it nice and grippy, especially in the snow. As a workhorse distance driver, it is consistent and controllable to throw it for a maximum distance.

This disc flies like a slightly beat-in destroyer and even has a low price. You can throw this disc hard and can cover about 400 feet.

PROS

  • Is great for intermediate to advanced throwers
  • IS great for forehand drives

CONS

  • Is not beginner friendly

REVIEW

As a high-speed glidey disc, Prodigy’s D1 is an excellent distance driver for power throwers who need a good forehand throw during windy days into doglegs.

The disc has some good glides that could easily cover over 430 feet for you, but it does not turn at all. It’s consistent overstability lets the D1 fight the wind fairly well. It does not perform as expected for really strong headwinds, though.

Out of the box, this distance driver may feel so overstable that you can’t work well with it. However, it beats in quite quickly and becomes a dead-straight flyer.

There might be issues on the consistency of its manufacturing, but it does have a fairly consistent slow fade at the end. With its rather large dome, it’s good for flex shots and hyzer flips to get that extra distance on its flight.

It’s also not a good combination for newer players of the sport, though.

PROS

  • Could cover great distances with its fast speed and long glide
  • Beats in quickly
  • Has a consistent end fade
  • Is an excellent disc for power throwers

CONS

  • Has a rather inconsistent manufacturing process
  • Is not good for newer or weak-armed players
  • Could be a chore to work with out of the box
  • Is not a good complement for really strong headwinds

REVIEW

Prodigy’s F Model S is a wide-rimmed stable fairway drive that could give you the pinpoint accuracy and the terrific control that your plays direly need.

With its rather domey feature, this control driver smoothly goes far with less effort before fading real hard. With its offered control, you can reach over 400 feet with a smash throw. You might also want to flip it up a bit and flex out with some flat release.

When beaten in, it becomes a straight flyer and does a bit of a turn when released on a hyzer.

Be mindful of the plastic you’ll get it with, though, because it might turn out too hard and inflexible for your plays. Also, the F Model S is more of a circumstantial utility driver rather than an everytime go-to driver.

PROS

  • Has a lot of glide to cover great distances
  • Is fairly controllable
  • Breaks in nicely and quickly

CONS

  • Plastic may be too hard and/or inflexible to play with
  • May not be your go-to fairway driver

REVIEW

As an overstable control driver, the F Model OS is not a disc that newer players should mess around with.

With its 2 turn rating, it has a fairly slow high-speed stability. Throw it flat and it would start turning right off the bat then do a fade and fight real hard at the end.

When thrown on a hyzer, the F Model OS would fly up to flat before that little speed stability would come right on back and give you something more of a distance hyzer.

On an anhyzer, on the other hand, it would not roll because of that low speed stability. It would, instead, have a rather wide flight and simply finish even though it might seem to want to roll.

This fairway driver has quite the unique flight so it might take a while to fully utilize this disc. It might also not be stable enough as marketed, so take note.

PROS

  • Has a unique flight pattern
  • Has a fairly predictable flight pattern

CONS

  • Is not friendly for newer players
  • May really take time to get used to
  • May not be as stable as marketed

REVIEW

Prodigy Discs’ F Model US is a great overstable disc for forehands and a powerful backhand throw. This disc has a definite end fade covering a max distance of around 300 feet.

With a flat and sharp rim on this disc, it flies straight out of your hand and starts fading out pretty fast.  Throwing it on a hyzer flip will result in a flat that fades out quickly.

This disc has a dependable flight that a right-hand backhand throw will make this disc’s flight path go slightly to the right.

F Model US has pretty decent controllability to the point that hyzer lines are easy for this disc. It can hold the line all day while putting this disc on anhyzer line is easy and will not hold until the end.

PROS

  • Basegrip holds up fairly well
  • Has a nice feel with the rim

CONS

  • Is not understable
  • Is not great for beginners

REVIEW

Designed by the Prodigy Disc to be a consistent overstable midranger, the M Model OS flies consistently under any wind condition.

Given how controllable this disc is, you can rely on its consistent drives without fail. It’s an excellent disc for those approach shots that you just want to do a slow fade and stick the landing. Aside from that, you will not have a bad skip or rollaway shot with the M Model OS.

Depending on its plastic, this midranger might not be as comfortable for forehand as it is for backhand. It’s a fairly good disc for mastering the forms of your shots, though, even if it’s not that much friendly for beginners.

It would be helpful to note how touchy this disc could be, though. When given too much power but having not enough hyzer, this midranger would flip over and eventually crash to the right.

PROS

  • Has a fairly consistent flight under any wind condition
  • Is very controllable
  • Is a good compliment for backhand throws
  • Is a good disc for mastering your forms

CONS

  • Can be too touchy for control and comfort
  • Does not feel as good to throw forehand as it is for backhand

REVIEW

A mid-range disc that can fly straight consistently and has a small amount of turn and almost no fade, Prodigy Discs’ M Model US will be the disc you would want to have on the field. This disc has a nice smooth rim that is easy for you to have a clean release when throwing it.

From a nice grip, it will turn over once you throw it with a lot of power. This disc has almost zero fades even when throwing short shots and will hardly push left from a right-hand backhand throw. M Model US can finish forward and straight right out of the box, with a surprising torque resistance, so you don’t have to feel trouble throwing it to 300 feet and worrying about any turnovers.

Throwing this disc flat with a lot of power will result in an anhyzer finish, be it a gentle or an aggressive anhyzer. With the disc’s feeling of comfort when holding it, you will find yourself easily controlling the disc.

PROS

  • Has an exceptional price-quality ratio
  • Is great for beginners

CONS

  • Will get scratched upon ground impact if thrown too hard

REVIEW

As a non-beaded mid-range that is fairly deep and flat, you can enjoy holding Prodigy Discs’s M1 during the game, especially for backhand and forehand grips. This disc flies dead straight and has a lot of glides. Plus, this disc has a nice gradual fade at the end of the flight, which will make you want to use this disc in a game.

M1 reliably finishes left with right-hand backhand throws, and you can shape it fairly and easily with moderate to fast arm speed. Throwing it on a hyzer flip, you can stretch this disc out around 300 to 315 feet if you need it to.

PROS

  • Is great for open shots
  • Feels good in the hand

CONS

  • Is not reliable in any headwind
  • Is not overstable as indicated and needs a bunch of angle

REVIEW

With its high glide and low speed, the P Model S is a reliable stable putter that you can have fairly complete control over.

It has a shallow micro beaded rim and a flat top that says it would stay on any line you would put it on. If you’re comfortable with those features, it could turn you into a confident disc golfer that would consistently sink those putt and approach shots.

Throw it on a hyzer and the P Model S would just flip up and stay like that for the rest of its flight. Put more power in its throw and you have yourself a pretty dead-straight flyer that would turn right then virtually sit down before fading right back into the line.

As a good throwing putter, it’s an excellent point-and-shoot stable putter for power throwers. You can smash this disc to reach over 400 feet and it would not turn over and would still hold its anhyzer line for as long as it’s on the right angle.

You might want it to be more stable so that you won’t lose it to the right when you throw it too hard, though.

PROS

  • Is very predictable and controllable with its low speed and high glide rating
  • Can be used to make consistent putt and approach shots
  • Is an excellent point-and-shoot stable putter
  • Will hold the line it’s thrown into quite well

CONS

  • May be quite tricky when thrown too hard

REVIEW

P Model Us is the go-to putter when you need a neutral approach, and you want to use it for soft hyzer, and anhyzers, or gentle straight shots. As a beefy disc, its shallow profile lets it fight the wind better than ever.

When you throw it flat into a headwind with good power, this disc will not turn over. It flies dead straight for spin putting within the circle that if you turbo put, it will have a good “S” curve at around 25 feet.

P Model US feels fairly comfortable with the base grip plastic, which is easy to power grip, and the rim is not too deep.

PROS

  • Is very beginner friendly
  • Will fly in whatever angle you want

CONS

  •  Is not great for flip putting
  • Does not have tons of glide

The Sheriff by Dynamic Discs has a rather unique design: relatively shallow with a rather wider wing and is comfortable to use for any type of hold.

This controllable distance driver has some type of dome that makes it a less viable disc for headwinds. Although controllable, you need the right amount of arm speed and spin-upon-release, depending on what flight you want this disc to do.

You can also use this glidey and high-speed distance driver for flicks or shots with a reliable fade at the end.

However, it is not particularly beginner-friendly since it requires a really good form and the skills to fully utilize the disc. With the appropriate arm speed, you can make this driver glide to easily reach a distance of over 400 feet.

Pros

  • Can cover a very large distance
  • Is controllable and predictable
  • Is comfortable for both forehand and backhand holds
  • Has a superb glide that could cover over 450 feet for you

Cons

  • Requires practice to fully utilize
  • Is not beginner-friendly

Review

The Raider by Dynamic Discs is a super consistent bomber that has a rather beefy profile you can rip forehand, no matter how strong.

Its flight pattern, however, depends greatly on the arm speed you’re using.

With the right amount of arm speed, it is a distance driver that has a very consistent flight pattern that lets you glide even for over 500 feet. Without the right arm speed, the Raider is an extremely flippy distance driver no matter how you try to keep it under control.

It’s an overstable disc that can handle itself with the wind, even with it’s small bit of domey feature.

Pros

  • Has a consistent flight pattern
  • Could rip through windy situations well

Cons

  • Needs the appropriate arm speed to fly the way you want it to
  • Takes some time and skills to get used to

Review

The Dynamic Trespass is a distance driver that has a solid glide that could let you reach about 450 feet, even on headwinds.

With its glide rating of five, you don’t need to exert much power trying to get a large distance into your shots. Even so, you still need to adapt to the features of this disc in order to get the flight you want it to have.

When you’re able to do that, you can use the Trespass as your go-to disc for tricky shots needed on woody courses. It’s an excellent training disc for getting a more refined forehand throw.

Pros

  • Is excellent for woody courses
  • As a solid glide that could reach great distances
  • Does not need much power into the throws to reach over 400 feet
  • Is a good training disc for forehand throws

Cons

  • Needs some skill to fully utilize its potential

Review

Your go-to disc when struggling with forehand throws, Dynamic Discs’ Felon is an excellent fairway driver to get you those flex lines and a nice skip at the end.

Although it can only travel a little bit over 350 feet, this super consistent overstable driver is very reliable for doing some hyzer or approach shots.

This dead-straight flyer also fades predictably at the end and feels superb for forehand hold.

While it is not as reliable for backhand throws, you can use the Felon for controlled or powered shots while trying to get past obstacles from afar– even on headwinds.

It is good to note, though, that this fairway driver breaks in rather quickly, so it will be less stable early on.

Pros

  • Is good for wooded courses
  • Is super consistent
  • Is a superb fairway disc for forehand holds
  • Is excellent for tricky shots even from afar

Cons

  • Is not friendly for those with slower arm speed.
  • Loses a bit of its stability rather quickly.

Review

Not only is it an easy-to-grip fairway driver, but the Getaway disc by Dynamic Discs feels extremely comfortable to the hand, with its small rim and a rather thin profile.

This disc can cover a great distance but is considered less compared to other distance drivers. With its dependable flight, you can have a consistent disc that goes straight then fades, easily reaching over 350 feet.

Although the Getaway can handle headwinds quite effectively, given how overstable it is, it will still turn and burn when you roll your wrist when using it. This gives a small challenge to players who are still fairly new to the game, especially if their arm speeds are on the slower side.

As it starts to break in, however, this rather glidey fairway driver flies more straightly with less amount of fade.

Pros

  • Has a predictable flight.
  • Is comfortable on hand.
  • Is a good match for headwings.
  • Flies straighter as it starts to break in

Cons

  • Does not travel as far as other distance drivers.
  • Will turn and burn with the wrong release.
  • Is quite the challenge for players with slower arm speeds.

Review

Dynamic Discs’ Vandal is an easy-to-throw straight flyer that has a rather fast speed of nine. Alongside its glide rating of five, you would be able to cover a fair amount of distance with a reliable fade at the end.

It’s a pretty accurate fairway driver that has enough stability to handle powered shots quite nicely. This disc may not be a good match for headwinds or crosswinds, but its flat rim feature makes it excellent for flick shots.

It’s a driver that feels great for both backhand and forehand holds. This comfort lets you do tricky shots on wooded courses or those shots that you need to hold a turn for the entire flight.

Pros

  • Is usable for any player, no matter how skilled.
  • Has a good rate of speed and glide.
  • Is excellent for flick shots.
  • Feels good on both backhand and forehand holds

Cons

  • Is not a good match for headwinds or crosswinds

Review

The Verdict by Dynamic Discs is an unusual midrange type of disc, especially since it is overstable.

It is different from other overstable discs that commonly have short glides. For instance, it can fade sharply, yet the glide is reliable and can hold an entire flight with a predictable end.

It has a flat, almost concave top. It provides comfort to the hands of the players, with its lower profile and shallow rims.

As dependable in all instances, it is the go-to when training at throwing forehands and backhands. These discs are the best for hyzer flips and flex shots, too.

Dynamic Discs’ Verdict is suitable for people who prefer a midrange type of disc that can glide for a long time.

Pros

  • Can withstand strong winds.
  • Has a long and reliable flight because of its extra glide
  • Can handle power

Cons

  • Have not demonstrated high speed turn
  • Not beginner-friendly
  • Got beat in pretty quick

Review

Justice is served with Dynamic Discs Justice’s resistance against any wind situation, especially the strong ones. It has little to no glide, so this disc instantly drops out of the sky!

To be specific, Justice has the glide of a brick and is perfect for people who have tons of power. This disc is best for forehand throws and approaches shots.

It feels comfortable to the players’ feel and has more grip with its flat top. It also has a good quality with its stability and does not beat in easily.

This is for people looking for a meathook or discs that really fight hard to get back to the ground once they throw it.

Pros

  • Will not turn over during the flight
  • Is consistent and beefy
  • Has a great advantage during days with strong winds

Cons

  • Is only suitable for people who have power
  • Not for beginners

Review

A shot-shaping disc for the open and in the woods, Dynamic Discs’ Bounty is an understable midrange type of disc. With its predictable turns, the Bounty will fly straight with a very little fade at slow speed, although it will slowly turn over without burning into the ground at high speed.

It also has a shallow rim and bead enough for a power grip or forehand grip. Thus, it gives comfort for players. This disc is best suited to hyzer flips or gentle turnovers.

Bounty is perfect for new players or beginners that want to learn all kinds of release power, heights, and angles because this disc can show them well.

Pros

  • Easy to throw multiple type shots
  • Easy to grip for most hand sizes

Cons

  • Can’t handle full power and torque

Review

As the beadless counterpart of the Dynamic Discs’ Judge, Dynamic Discs’ Warden is fairly deep and comfortable to hold. With the grippy yet stiff plastic release, it has a smooth-flowing throw.

It flies in a straight pattern for most of the flight and is stable with the most minimal fade at the end, thus an effortless putting.

Throwing it on a hyzer angle in full power can even create a good flip-up.  It is suitable for people training for good upshots or short and straight approach shots.

This disc is for those looking for a great putter that has no bead. It is also likely suitable for beginners or new players and more advanced players.

Pros

  • Has a straight flight, so the end is predictable
  • Has a smooth rim that makes it comfortable to hold

Cons

  • Can only handle a little bit of wind
  • While throwing, the edge of the disc may got stuck a little with one of the fingers

Review

With a more shallow rim and an understable flight path of Dynamic Discs’ Deputy, hitting those far putts seems possible from now on. Its classic soft plastic is good for sticking to the ground, and with just enough power in throwing the disc, the disc can have a good amount of turn.

It has a nice slow turn and holds the line nicely, so it is a good throw in the woods. Moreover, it is enjoyable to throw Deputy on short technical holes or in difficult upshots.

Properly throwing it would lead to a dead straight path with zero fades, and on tightly wooded courses, a short hyzer is the best way to use it. This disc is also suitable for both backhand and flick.

It fits those who keep trying deep C2 putts, outside C2 step-thru or jump putts, and long any putts.

Pros

  • Can go wherever you want it
  • Is extremely durable.

Cons

  • Has a low profile so it’s really thin to hold it
  • Is not too deep for forehand
  • Will turn over into a headwind or for applying too much power

Review

Smooth and straight to judge its predictability, Dynamic Discs’ Judge is a stable go-to putter with an ultra-straight flight path. With the bead and blend plastic being grippy and not overly sticky, Judge can offer a comfortable grip to the players.

Judge is a perfect fit for shoot approaches and flexes forehand approaches with its straight-putting path. It is also excellent for spin putts and a point-and-shoot approach.

It is great to drive with and for putting. Without a doubt, Judge is one of the dynamic discs’ best putters, and treating it as a starter disc, it is good for beginners or new players.

Pros

  • Can exactly do what you make it do
  • Is a good do-it-all-type of putter

Cons

  • Doesn’t come in premium plastics, so the disc will quickly die from playing in the woods
