Best Midrange Discs (Innova Roc3 – Speed: 5 Glide: 4 Turn: 0 Fade: 3)

Best Midrange Discs

This Innova disc is an excellent choice for your main midrange disc. The Roc3 is the faster version of the popular Innova disc, the Roc.

I like the Roc3 because it has a nice straight flight with enough fade. It’s not too stable for most players to use but has a finish that you can trust.

With the added fade, it also stays true in the wind. You can even use it off the tee.  Get a great midrange disc made by Innova and take your game to the next level!

Best Midrange Discs (Dynamic Discs EMac Truth – Speed: 5 Glide: 5 Turn: 0 Fade: 2)

Dynamic Discs delivers an great midrange disc in the EMac Truth. This disc is the more stable version of their Truth disc.

It’s also the signature disc of Eric McCabe. That’s where the EMac comes from.

I like it for its stable flight and predictable fade. It holds a great line like any good go-to midrange should and works for many situations.

If you are looking for a disc like the Roc3 but with more glide and less fade, pick up the EMac Truth.

Latitude 64 Compass – Speed: 5 Glide: 5 Turn: 0 Fade: 1

Latitude 64 didn’t disappoint when they released the Compass. It’s a super straight flying midrange disc that has just a hint of fade.

The Compass is a very controllable disc and will hold any angle you release it on. Whether it’s straight, hyzer or anhyzer, this disc does it all.

It’s a great choice for your main midrange disc because of its versatility. If you are looking for a disc with more stability and glide than the Buzzz, the Compass has got you covered.

Prodigy M2 – Speed: 5 Glide: 4 Turn: 0 Fade: 2

The M2 is yet another great option for your go-to midrange slot. It has a nice stable flight path with a reliable fade.

I like this disc for the feel it has in the hand, you get a good release every time.

What’s A Midrange Disc And What Are They Used For?

Midrange discs fall in between putters and drivers. They are usually characterized by their high-speed rating which for midrange discs are 4 and 5.

These discs are designed for distances outside the reach of a putter but are more controllable than a fairway driver. They work great for a lot of different shots.

You can use them for short drives or long approach shots. They shine with their high accuracy and work great for tunnel shots, hitting gaps and playing in the woods.

If you’ve just been using putters and drivers all along and have neglected to use a midrange disc you are missing out.

What Makes A Midrange Disc Great?

The two main characteristics I look for in midrange disc are reliability and versatility.

If I select a disc as my go-to midrange, I want to be able to trust it’s flight and also use it for varying situations.

I want to be able to release it flat and know it’s going to fly straight. The disc needs to be able to hold a hyzer or anhyzer line and fly true in the wind. All the discs I’ve outlined on the list match this criteria..

If you pick one of the midrange discs I’ve shown here, you’ll be able to both rely on it and use it for most situations.

Final Thoughts

Deciding on your main midrange disc can be tough. Especially with all the great discs that are on the market today.

I hope this article has made your decision a lot easy. If you select any midrange on this list, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

All these discs are excellent choices to fill that go-to midrange disc slot in your bag. Grab one now and take your midrange game to the next level.
