Fairway drivers are the workhorse of disc golf. These discs provide distance, control and accuracy. While fairway drivers don’t have as much distance potential as a max distance driver, they are typically easier to throw accurately and often provide as much distance for new players.
Score an albatross with the Albatross. That’s right. We said it. This is a large wing driver that has the largest rim width of them all. The Albatross has a high speed rating of 14, and this disc soars of every obstacle and great distances to land in its nesting grounds on par-4 greens. The Remix Ronan is an overstable fairway drive with a moderate rim width that works well for experienced players, forehand shots, and windy conditions. The Innova TeeBird3 is the sleeker, faster, version of the most popular fairway driver in the world, that hundreds of thousands of disc golfers have come to trust. The ‘3’ utilizes a flatter top than the original TeeBird. It is slightly faster (speed 8) than it’s older counterpart but glides less (4) which aids in allowing this disc to be even more precise and accurate. This target-specific fairway driver will go exactly where you want it too.

The Axiom Clash disc golf driver is a neutral flyer with more end of flight fade than the first introduced fairway drivers in the Axiom line. This discs is described as “more stable than the the Crave with added reliability.”
Axiom says that, “Skilled players will see more turn from Clash than Crave, yet more fade from Clash. Average throwers will find a flight similar to Crave with more fade.
The Crave has been very popular for it’s incredibly straight flight path. The Clash should have the same great flat top feel and provide a nice hooking end of flight fade with beautiful Axiom rim colors. This disc golf disc was PDGA approved on June 10th, 2014.

he FD2 is a stable flying fairway driver with TeeBird like flight ratings. Discmania gives their second fairway driver this description: “The FD2 is a reliable speed 7 staple fairway driver for all skill levels. It’s not too glidey so as to avoid it from sailing off-target and it comes equipped with a low-speed fade you can depend on. Packed with a nice amount of high speed stability, this disc provides you with some nice straight lines when thrown flat and hard. The more power you put behind this disc, the straighter lines you will see it deliver. When thrown more gently, the fade will kick in earlier in it’s flight making it’s ability in cutting corners a lot easier.”
The Axiom Inspire is a friendly to throw disc golf discs for players of all skill levels. This driver has the same wing size (1.7cm) as the Crave, but due to this being an understable disc, it is supposed to be more friendly for low power players. This new driver is similar to the MVP Switch and is a great choice for new disc golfers, women, and children, who want an easy to throw disc with some ‘style’.

The Mantis is a reliable fairway driver released as the 2013 Ace Race disc in Titanium plastic. The Mantis gives us a straight flight path with a comfortable feel and an excellent glide. The later runs have slight variations in that they have a slightly lower profile and has a bit more dome to it, thus making it easier to control.
