Innova is the #1 Disc Golf Manufacturer in the world. They held the original patent on the bevel edge golf disc and make more discs each year then all other manufacturers combined. Innova manufactures discs in Rancho Cucamonga, California and also has a major distribution center for the East Coast in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
This overstable putter has a big thick Thumtrac Rim. This a slow overstable disc that hardly glides. The Pig is a great choice for hyzer putts and for throwing into headwinds. Be wary it may like to roll around in the mud.
This slightly understable mid-range is perfect for learning to throw anhyzers and keeping mid-range shots straight. The Panther is a great choice for beginners and works well as a roller.
The Panther is available in durable Champion plastic and is recommended for tightly wooded holes.
The Orc is one of the classic Speed 10 drivers made by Innova. because of its speed and accuracy this disc is a good choice for beginning players. The Orc flies well for both backhand and forehand shots. This is an overstable disc, but do to its degree of understable turn this disc has an s shaped flight. The Orc is taller than the average distance driver and has a thinner rim. In lighter weights, this is an ideal choice for newer disc golfers. The Orc is a go to for new players who prefer the forehand shots.
Nothing is better than The Mako when looking for a great straight flying disc. The Mako is known for its straight shooting, no nonsense straight finish. This is the fastest flying disc that offers both a 0 turn and 0 glide rating.
The super stable Mako will fly how you want it to. If you throw it level, it will keep going with straight very little fade. If thrown at an anhyzer angle, it will remain turned over. Throw it hyzer and the Mako will veer to the left at the degree of the angle. This disc is so stable that its flight characteristics are stable no matter how hard you throw it.
The Lycan is a straight flying mid-range driver with a great feel. The Lycan is a very similar disc to the Mako but has slightly more fade. For mid-range discs, the Lycan has a very wide and deep rim. The high dome this disc comes equipped with provides a some great glide capabilities (glide rating 5).
The Lycan is available in Star plastic, which gives it a nice soft grippy feel while still providing excellent durability.
The Leopard is the classic straight flying Innova fairway driver. This disc is often seen in beginner sets thanks to its reliable flight path and limited fade. It’s not the fastest flying disc (speed 6) but new players probably will see more distance than any other disc out there.
While the Leopard is great for beginners, it can be found in the arsenal of more experienced players. With moderate shots this disc is great for weaving through narrow tree lines. It’s also a good anhyzer disc that slices to the right, and makes a good roller to.
If you want a great disc to perfect your throwing technique, buy a handful of inexpensive DX Leopards and head to a field.
The Innova Krait is one of the straightest flying distance drivers made by Innova. This new disc, released in fall of 2012, boasts of being one of the most stable discs currently on the market. Though this disc may be an extra tall distance driver (2.3 cm) it still comes equipped with an average rim depth and still ends up flying fast. The Krait provides intermediate players with more distance and proves to be an excellent forehand distance driver.
The King Cobra is a slightly overstable mid-range that was created with power players in mind. This disc is almost identical to the Cobra, but won’t turn like the regular Cobra. The great feel gives more confidence and leads to more accurate shots.
The King Cobra comes in durable Champion plastic that will maintain its flight characteristics for years.
The Katana is an amazing high speed distance driver with some major turn and fade. The Katana will slice through the air like a katana. This speed 13 driver comes equipped with an incredible high speed turn (3) which is followed by a major low speed fade (3). Innova says this disc has “flight characteristics of the Sidewinder on steroids.” The Katana is certainly more than capable of handling anhyzer shots and sailing to the maximum distance. This is also a lot safer than an actual Katana sword.
The Aviar-X JK (Juliana Korver) is a version of the popular Innova Aviar that brings great results. This is a “big bead” putter, meaning there is a bump or bead on the inside rim.
This disc comes in soft Pro plastic. The JK Aviar is softer than the Yeti Pro, but more firm than the regular R-Pro Aviar. This putter comes with an excellent grip that produces an accurate and controlled flight. Though more overstable than other Aviar models, this disc is a great choice for beginners . The grippier plastic makes it especially effective for disc golfing in cold weather.
